Is Selena Gomez booking a new TV gig? A new teaser of Hotel Transylvania: The Series has surfaced on online. She was a voice over for the Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2. Sony Pictures Animation has been working on an animated TV series based on the popular films. The series was announced prior to the release of Hotel Transylvania 2. After the sequel hit box office success, the studio decided to continue with the project and the first teaser has surfaced.
It’s more common for the entertainment industry to bring a TV series to the big screen, but never the reversed. That’s because it can take some time to bring a movie to the small screen. The premise of Hotel Transylvania: The Series is about Mavis (Dracula’s then teenage daughter) and her monster friends who frighten guests at Dracula’s hotels for monsters. Unlike the films, the series is in 2D animation and features a younger Mavis, as its set before the first two Hotel Transylvania films.
The teaser doesn’t reveal much information about the plot, reports ScreenRant.com. But fans of the films will notice that the wit and humor of the films won’t be lost on the show. There will be plenty of classic monster featured, such as the mummy and Frankenstein’s creature. Hotel Transylvania: The Series will have 26 episodes that run 22 minutes each.
The series will follow Mavis and her friends – Hank N Stein, Pedro, and Wendy Blob – at her father’s hotel. While Dracula is on a business trip, Mavis and her friends will have free run of the place. Aunt Lydia, Dracula’s older sister, will try to have control of the kids and the hotel. Hotel Transylvania: The Series will push off the release of Hotel Transylvania 3. A third film is scheduled for a 2018 release.
Will Selena Gomez be the voice over for teenage Mavis? That’s the question on fans’ minds lately. Selena Gomez has achieved success as the executive producer for 13 Reasons Why.
The Netflix popular series was renewed for a second season. Selena Gomez was originally set to play Hannah Barker on the series, but she turned it down. It turns out that the singer has a lot going on behind-the-scenes and in her personal life to work on a show.
Selena Gomez is currently working on new music. She just released her new song “Bad Liar,” just weeks after dropping her single “It Ain’t Me.” She’s been busy dating The Weeknd and following him around the world on his tour. Selena Gomez has already stated that she wanted to let the stars of 13 Reasons Why to become the main focus of the show. Plus, she’s scared of the cult-like following behind the book.
Hotel Transylvania: The Series will premiere on The Disney Channel on Sunday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes will air every night at the same hour through June 29. It will then air in its regular timeslot on Sunday, July 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The first episode will be available on The Disney Channel app, YouTube, and VOD on Tuesday, June 20.
