Selena Gomez went on an intense liking session on Instagram over the weekend. The pop star took to the social media app to slam Instagram models. This comes after Selena revealed in her Vogue cover story that she no longer has control of her Instagram account. It’s supposedly in the hands of her assistant. But, it still looks like Selena has access to her Instagram, which she says she goes on once per week.
The 24-year-old is also the most followed person on Instagram. Her latest post featured her getting cozy with The Weeknd at Coachella garnered the most likes since her Coca-Cola photo. She took to the social media site to put down other women who follow the Instagram trend of beauty and style.
The various comments that Gomez liked mentions that she is “classy and full of respect,” and that Instagram models aren’t wifey material. The comments also noted that she’s a “good girl,” and you won’t see her wearing a bikini unless it’s on the cover of magazines like Vogue.
One of the comments said, “To be honest yeah all these Instagram this Nd *bad girls* aint wifey material, look selena is the most followed person on insta but the only time you’ll see her in a *bikini* is on the cover of vogue, if that ain’t class I don’t know what that is. [SIC].”
Some fans think Selena liked the comments in response to The Weeknd’s ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid. The supermodel has been posting a series of sexy photos of herself wearing a bikini while on vacation with her model girlfriends. One of the many comments that Selena liked said that if Abel [Tesfaye] (The Weeknd’s real name) can’t handle Selena’s non-sexy, non-bikini posts, then that’s just too bad.
A Twitter user who goes by the name @bellaspalvin came across the comments on Sunday night April 30. She shared screenshots of the comments that Gomez liked along with the tweet, “So Instagram girls aren’t classy or wifey material … noted.” This isn’t the first time that Selena has preached that she’s classier than other girls. Back in 2013 on her Stars Dance World Tour, Selena said told her fans that the “sexiest thing I know is class.”
“You know what I think is sexy?” she asked at one point. “Class.”
“I get it all day, every day, that I’m not sexy enough,” she told her fans. “Let me tell you one thing: the sexiest thing, I think, actually, I know, is class and that’s it.”
Some took Gomez’s comments as a response to Miley Cyrus’ wild behavior. The pop star was slammed for posing nude, wagging her tongue, and twerking half-naked. Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus both started their careers in Disney. They were both desperate to shed their good-girl image. Gomez posed topless on the cover of her latest album, Revival. Cyrus twerked instead. There’s no difference.
