Taken begins tonight with Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) training with John (Gaius Charles). John shares with Bryan the mission and he is to return to the station while he, Rem (James Landry Hebert) and Scott (Michael Irby) move in and get the hostage. Bryan tells John he is good and there is no such thing as a stupid question.
As Bryan on the mission, he keeps seeing his sister, Cali (Celeste Desjardins) begging for his help. He runs down the hill towards the warehouse, he takes out one of watchers; he places a camera in the bricks to see how many are there. Bryan learns his team is under fire and he is ordered to get the hostage.
As he tries to rescue the hostage, he flashes back to Cali calling out to him for help; instead of shooting him, he beats the man nearly to death before his team pulls him off of him. Bryan finds out it was just a guy from Delta force playing a terrorist. He is told there is something wrong with him in the head. Christina Hart (Jennifer Beals) says he is still a work in progress.
Senator Wilkes (Brian Jagersky) dies after drinking a glass of wine in an upscale restaurant. Meanwhile the team is called out to do a job in the Ukraine, apparently Mejia gave up some names. Christina is lecturing Bryan about his momentary break from reality, just as OPS receives a call about Wilkes death; the belief is he died of a heartattack.
Christina confronts him on him still being deeply affected by his sister’s murder; he is angry that she is just going to make him ride a desk while the rest of the team are in the filed. She asks if Bryan has a problem with riding the desk and a lot of training before he can do ops like in the Ukraine.
Bryan saves a few of the team by telling them about a grenade on the floor. They capture their target but need to wait for confirmation from Mejia. As the ID is confirmed Bryan can’t stop staring at the man who killed his sister.
Christina receives a text from Clara Ward (Claire Rankin) telling her Senator Wilkes was murdered; she tracks the location of the phone; Clara snaps the phone in half but someone sees her and takes it out of the trash.
While some of the team working ops are making coffee, Bryan uploads what he can about Mejia, but when Christina says since the rest of the team is out, it is his turn to be in the field; on the flight she explains what he needs to do and that Clara is his mission, she is one of the best ops Christina has ever had and has never cried “wolf”.
As Christina approaches Clara’s car, Bryan says someone is in the building. Clara says people poisoned Wilkes and in 5 seconds she is leaving with or without Christina.; against her better judgment she gets in the car. As she drives, Clara tells Christina what is going on, but before she can finish, she gets shot in the neck driving at high speed, the car crashes and rolls over and starts burning. The shooter drives by on a dirt bike with Bryan in pursuit; one of the ops people seem to recognize the may on the dirtbike. As Clara is dying she tells Christina something, but Bryan arrives and orders them to get her to the hospital, as she also has been shot.
Bryan keeps pressure on her wounds, as they race to the hospital. Christina says Clara’s husband, Harry Ward (Dominic Fumusa), and it is vital to find him. John, Scott Dave and Rem return from the Ukraine and tell Bryan he did a good job managing to get a picture of the shooter on the bike.
Harry arrives at Christina’s hospital room, greeted by Vlasik (Monique Gabriela Curnen). She tells him his wife was killed by a sniper and they believe it is connected to Senator Wilkes death. She asks him if the word “fort” means anything to him because she was trying to tell them something just before she died; he seems a bit off that “fort” was her final word.
Dave hands the photo off to find a name for the face; meanwhile Asha (Brooklyn Sudano) arrives at Bryan’s place to bring over some photos his sister had from when he was at war. She questions him about Cali’s death, and how she was the only one who died of 91 passengers that day. She offers Bryan if he needs a shoulder to call her; he says he isn’t really a walker, but he learns she is an attorney.
Christina wakes up from a nightmare and sees Harry sleeping in the chair in her room. Ops learns the shooter was William Davis who was special forces and now free lances. John asks Bryan if he is ready now because they need this bastard alive; Bryan repeats that he understands. The team is in Charlotte, North Carolina; everyone is given a specific assignment while Bryan is to keep the motor running, watch and learn.
Christina wakes up and Harry wants to know why Clara was in Kentucky; she says she doesn’t know. A nurse comes in and says they are not allowed to talk and Christina needs to rest; she orders him to leave. She asks him where he thought she was supposed to be?
Dave tells Bryan he owes him one about the grenade thing. Rem asks how could he save his ass if he wasn’t even there. Harry thought Clara was in Syria and Turkey; they talk about the work “fort”; he believes it was Fortunata, which he thought was a restaurant. Christina is discharging herself, asking Vlasik to get her clothes.
The team break into the building, reminding each other that they need to take him alive. The target escapes and they tell Bryan to to cover the alley and the street; he jumps out of the truck while John chases the target along the roof.
Bryan chases him from the street, calls in back up to where he would steal a vehicle and goes to the parking garage. When the guy rides towards Bryan he shoves him off his bike and a fight ensues, the target falls off the side and onto a vehicle; when the team arrives they say they were pretty sure they needed him alive.
Bryan is watching the hospital cameras, and orders security to keep everyone behind closed doors and no heroics. Security guard named, Germany tells Bryan they just lost the cameras and the power source is in the basement. Bryan plants one of the 2-way radios and tells Germany to call him in 30 seconds and not before. Bryan takes out the two in the basement as Dave announces they just lost power.
Two of the men kill doctors and steal their scrubs, they enter Davis’ room, where they attempt to kill him with a pillow, but Bryan is in the bed and stabs them both with a broken broom stick. Christina confronts the men on a ship about killing Senator Wilkes and her friend Clara; they say they didn’t do it, they are only “soldiers”.
Bryan grabs him and tells him to act like one. Christina brings up project Fortunata where they were hired mercenaries by the UN to protect foreign NGO and voluntary workers there to help the Syrian refugees escape poverty. John said their bosses couldn’t resist making money off of human trafficking, of women and children to slavery and the sex trade.
Clara shared this information with Senator Wilkes. John says soldiers fight for their country. Christina wants to know who gave the order to kill Clara and Senator Wilkes? She says the last one who tells her who murdered her friend, will never see land again; they both begin to talk within minutes.
Bryan and Christina arrive at the bar, the man who gave the order drinks the wine with his own poison in it. Christina tells him Clara said hi; the team discuss how they never get credit because they technically don’t exist. Dave says they never would have pulled it off without the new guy.
They are about to cheers to Bryan when he stands up and wants them to know he is still a little messed up because of his sister’s murder; they smirk and say they haven’t noticed; they all have ghosts but they appreciate him telling them and its what makes them normal.
Asha comes to visit Bryan, he admits he was lying before. She says she knew that, and she deserves better. He shows her on his laptop a video of Carlos Mejia, who is still alive but the man who murdered Cali because of him. She wants to know where he is and why does he have this video. She demands to know what he is going to do, he just looks at her silent.
END!
