Tonight’s episode of Blacklist Redemption kicks off with a man named Kevin fishing a laptop out of the back of his toilet, he stashes it in his elderly neighbor’s apartment and runs out of the building. Kevin makes a phone call and tells someone on the other line that something went wrong – his contact never met him at the market last night. And, there’s someone in a black car following him.
A man jumps out of the car and shouts that he is the police. Kevin makes a run for it and corners himself on the top of a building. The cop pulls his gun on Kevin, and he shouts not to shoot, he’s just a journalist. Kevin’s arrested and taken to a Tariq Prison where’s he interrogated by Commander Behar. Kevin says that he’s in Kyrkistan covering human rights’ violations.
Commander Behar knows exactly who Kevin is, and he knows that he’s not just a journalist, he’s also an operative for the CIA. Kevin laughs at the Commander’s allegations and insists he’s not a member of the CIA. He begins reciting his rights, and Behar pistol whips him.
Back home, Kevin’s mother is frantic – she’s trying to figure out how she can get her son released. Scott Hargrave shows up at Meryl’s house to discuss Kevin’s situation. Meryl cries that he’s being charged with espionage, Kyrkistan doesn’t exactly have a fair government system. Scottie and Meryl are old friends, she tries to comfort her, and promises that she will make some phone calls.
Back at headquarters, Tm Keen and Scottie’s team are studying Kevin’s case and Kyrkistan. Apparently, President Aberjham has the entire country on lockdown, he’s running for reelection and was losing in the polls, so he’s had over 10,000 people arrested besides Kevin.
Meanwhile, Scottie is working hard in Washington trying to get some help from the government in getting Kevin back. But, they want her to stand down. Apparently, they have an air agreement with Kyrkistan and they don’t want to upset it by going after Kevin. Back in
Back in Kyrkistan, Kevin has been stripped down to his underwear and is being forced to read a statement on camera. In the statement, Kevin reads aloud that he is an operative for the CIA and he makes a formal apology to Kyrkistan. After they are done filming Kevin’s statement, he cries that none of it is true and he’s not in the CIA. The Commander still isn’t buying it, and now that they have a confession on tape, although clearly coerced, they will execute him.
Back in the US, Scottie watches Kevin’s confession online. She’s very close to Kevin and pretty shaken up about it. Scottie watches a home video that she recorded years ago of herself and Kevin learning how to ride a bike, in the video he calls her “Aunt Scottie.”
Scottie’s assistant interrupts – she wants to know if she is going to move forward with the Kyrkistan plan. Scottie explains that after she lost her son Christopher, she got very close to the Jensen Family, and she helped raise Kevin as if he was her own.
Scottie meets with her team and explains that Kevin was friends with her son Christopher, and he’s like her family. Tom is especially interested, since that means that he used to know Kevin many years ago. Scottie’s team is more than happy to go to Kyrkistan, even though its unsanctioned by the US and they will have no back-u.
Getting in to Kyrkistan undetected is much easier said than done. Solomon and Nez fly in under aliases, and make it past security. Meanwhile, Tom hijacks a truck and drives across the border with the weapons they will need to break Kevin out of jail in the back. Unfortunately, he’s busted at the border and has to abandon the truck and make a run for it. Tom manages to get in to Kyrkistan, but now they have no weapons.
Scottie makes a phone call and contacts a man named Volkan. But, he drives a hard bargain. Apparently, his daughter is an aspiring singer, and he wants Scottie to get her an American record deal and tour. While Scottie is trying to pull that off, Tom gets the pleasure of seeing Volkan’s daughter perform a Britney Spears song, and she’s hilariously bad.
It turns out that Volkan only has two rifles, and they endures his daughter’s singing for nothing. But, luckily he is friends with several members of the National Police, which they are able to use to their advantage. Solomon and Tom go undercover at the Tariq prison as cops. They make their way through the prison, trying to locate Kevin, while Nez is waiting outside in the getaway car.
Scottie is thrilled when Tom radios her and says that they found Kevin and he’s alive. He uses a grenade to break Kevin’s cell open, Solomon and Tm grab Kevin and start to make a run for it. Unfortunately, getting out of the prison is much more difficult than they imagined. Kevin is in bad shape, and can barely walk, and the guards have noticed that he’s missing and locked the prison down. Dumont is back in the office with Scottie and trying to override the prison’s security system remotely.
The cops find Tom and Solomon hiding in the kitchen with Kevin and a shootout ensues. Solomon and Tom try to hold the cops off as long as they can, but they are running out of time. Dumont can’t crack the key code. Luckily, Nez is an out of the box thinker. She ties the door of the prison to her car and pulls it off the wall. Tom and Solomon make it out of the prison alive. Now they just have to figure out how to get out of the country.
Scottie heads to the Jensen house and tells them that Kevin is safe and with her people. The Chief of Staff calls Scottie and freaks out on her for going to Kyrkistan without their permission. Scottie reminds him that Halcyon is a private company, they don’t answer to the government. The chief of staff reluctantly agrees to help get them out of the country, but they need to make it to the US embassy on their own.
Kevin is determined to get his laptop from the apartment building where he hid it. He rants to Tom that it is full of his notes and recordings, and he promised the people of Kyrkistan that their voices would be heard. Tom and Nez shut Kevin down, there’s no way they are leaving the safe house to go back to his apartment building, they’ll be caught. While Tom is on the phone with Scottie, Kevin sneaks out of the safe house to get his laptop anyways.
Tom rushes to Kevin’s apartment and finds him inside with his laptop. The place is surrounded by cops and there’s no way out. Kevin leads Tom, Solomon and Nez out the back door and they steal a woman’s car and ride off in it. It’s not long before there are a dozen cop cars chasing them, they have no choice but to try and make it to the embassy. The Kyrkistan cops have set up a roadblock between them and the agency, Nez plows their car in to two vans.
They crash literally a few feet away from the embassy. They rush through the gate, and they’re all badly banged up. Tom runs back to the car and risks his life to get Kevin’s laptop. When Tom gets inside the gates, he realizes that Kevin is on the ground and they are giving him CPR. One of Toms only links to his childhood, Kevin Jenson, is dead.
Scottie gets the news that Kevin is dead and she’s devastated. She breaks down on the phone with Tom and begins sobbing. Tom, Solomon, and Nez return to the United States without Kevin, but Tom is still clutching his laptop.
A few days later, Tom and Scottie are called to a meeting with the chief of staff. They learn that Tom actually was a CIA agent after all. They take the laptop from Tom, and tell him and Scottie that they can never reveal Kevin’s status at the CIA. Scottie is furious that they are asking her to lie to her friend Meryl about her son.
Scottie meets with her team and reveals that she has decided the chief of staff is right, and they should keep Kevin’s secret – she isn’t going to tell Meryl the truth, she knows Kevin wouldn’t have wanted her to.
Scottie heads home and pours herself a drink and watches home videos of Kevin and Christopher.
THE END!
