The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) will battle for Eric’s (John McCook) attention and Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) hand. Sharp dialogue exchanges peppered the script as Rademacher bowed on B&B.
As all B&B fans knew from following CDL, Thorne was recast earlier this year. Rademacher replaced Winsor Harmon who followed Jeff Trachta and the original Thorne, Clayton Norcross.
Ridge purposely referred to Thorne as “little brother”. Later, when both men were alone, Thorne told Ridge to drop the nickname, as it was condescending. He added that if any moniker should be applied, “half-brother” would be appropriate. Ridge offered a smarmy look and repeated the “little brother” jab during his parting remarks.
Hardcore audience members are familiar with Ridge’s backstory. He and Thorne share the same mother (Stephanie, played by the now-retired Susan Flannery), but have different fathers. Ridge’s father was Massimo Morone (played by the late, great Joseph Mascolo). Eric is Thorne’s father, making Rudemacher’s character a full-blooded Forrester.
When asked, Brooke told Thorne that she and Bill (Don Diamont) weren’t a good match. She offered no details about why she was ending her marriage. During the same conversation, Brooke also sloughed off Ridge’s assertion that Bridge had reunited. Thorne caught on to Ridge’s hope, which naturally establishes an area of vulnerability.
Ridge has just moved passed a very awkward situation with his dad. The misguided Quinn (Rena Sofer) infatuation turned into a debacle when Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) got involved.
After learning of his wife’s indiscretion, which wasn’t a sexual affair, Eric told Ridge that he was no longer his son. Sheila’s games eventually pushed Queric back together, which also sparked the healing process between Eric and Ridge.
Father and adopted son are now solid. Eric is also fully supportive of Ridge’s plan to remarry Brooke. Brooke is obviously keeping her options open. While she cares for Ridge, they’ve endured multiple stops-and-go’s through the years.
She’s just severed ties with Dollar Bill, who drew her interest because of his bold (yes, that’s a show title reference) personality. Brooke’s obvious hesitancy rests in a well-founded belief that many fans can relate to in their real lives.
Rebounding to someone who Brooke shares history with would initially feel good, allow her to gain a quick relationship and make Bridge’s son, R.J. (Anthony Turpel), happy. But would it be best for her life right now? And will the near-future see Thorne’s influence impact Brooke’s view of reality?
