The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that a breakup is in the offing unless Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is able to break Sally’s (Courtney Hope) hold over Liam (Scott Clifton). His idea of staging a sit-in at the Spencer Publications property that Spectra Fashions currently occupies appears foolish. The idea also seemed to confirm suspicions that he’s romantically interested in Sally.
The issue isn’t whether Bill (Don Diamont) can be successfully blocked, delayed or somehow challenged legally. Liam has jumped head-first into a cause that’s not his own. He’s also defending an attractive woman who’s not his wife. The second point makes his motives suspicious.
Steffy initially rejected Bill’s assertion that Liam had a thing for Sally. But as time has passed Wood’s character came to believe that his dad wasn’t wrong. Whether she didn’t want to admit that someone like Sally could be a threat, or not, this situation has to be stopped, if possible. Dangerous personal consequences could easily result.
As B&B viewers know, Liam was able to reach an apparent truce with his dad. Both men had been feuding about Bill’s admitted plan to have his property torched so that Sky could be built.
Liam initially used a hidden recording device to obtain verbal evidence of Bill’s crime. But Bill and Justin (Aaron Spears) were able to capture and destroy all known digital and physical copies, thus negating Liam’s leverage. However, the rift did cause Bill to reflect on his life.
Steffy helped Bill to see that he actually wanted to reconcile with his son. Bill then developed a plan where he, Liam and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) would run the family company together. Liam soon learned that Bill’s plan involved supposedly equal voting shares. But Wyatt’s loyalty to Bill meant that Liam would lose decisions that Billy wanted, which included the revived skyscraper plan.
It actually seems likely that Liam isn’t currently interested in Sally. He’s a total idealist and truly believes in her cause. Liam thinks, rightly, that his dad upended Sally’s business and he’s trying to help her succeed. But in doing so he’s also frustrated his dad and now, Steffy.
The storyline shifted when Steffy began to believe that Sally is a threat to her marriage. Liam’s personality type will probably push him toward Sally if Steffy insists he stay away. That could surely lead to an eventual romantic spark, unless Liam realizes that he’s being far too stubborn in this instance.
