The Voice begins tonight with coaches greeting everyone as they make their way to their chairs. Carson says after an incredible night of voting, the results are in and we are LIVE! He welcomes Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton, announcing that both Jennifer and Blake will be performing with their teams, and of course, fans will be able to save an artist; plus Maroon 5 will perform their hit “What Lovers Do.” The Top 12 come out onto the stage, wasting no time, as Carson Daly says he will be asking them questions throughout the night.
He asks Davon Fleming what if it about Baltimore and the people there that inspire him as an artist? He says it is a city on the rise, it was seen a lot as a city with a lot of bad stuff going on, but good things are happening and he wants to be a light that shines and be a spokesperson for the good stuff instead.
Carson announces the first 3 artists who are safe. America saved from Team Adam Addison Agen. The next person America saved was Noah Mac from Team Jennifer. The third artist moving on is Chloe Kohanski from Team Blake. As we went to commercial, we are given a glimpse of the Top 12 preparing for their first ever live performance together in downtown Los Angeles.
Jennifer Hudson joins her team of Shi’Ann Jones, Davon Fleming, and Noah Mac on stage where they perform “Let It Be” by The Beatles. Jennifer sits back down and Carson and the remaining artists make their way back to the stage for more results. Carson has the names of two more artists who are moving on. He says America saved from Brooke Simpson from Team Miley. Now all four coaches have representation in the Live shows next week. Carson announces that America also saved Keisha Renee from Team Blake.
When we return from commercial Adam Levine takes the vocals with Maroon 5 hits the stage and performs their new hit song “What Lovers Do”. Carson reveals their album and tickets for their tour are available right now. Elizabeth Banks joins Carson on stage, where they reveal a music video mash-up was made between the Top 12 and Pitch Perfect 3.
Carson has a quick question for Red Marlow asking him what is the biggest change about being a performer? He says stepping out of his box and actually performing like Blake said. Carson reveals who the next two are safe. America saved Shi’Ann Jones from Team Jennifer, she is 15 and the youngest in the competition. America also saved Janice Freeman from Team Miley.
It currently stands at Blake (2) Jennifer (2) Miley (2) Adam (1).
Adam and Miley are in the sky box, talking about how amazing it is to find artists all over the world through Snapchat, just like Shardee from season 3, who was Team Adam. Coach Blake joins his team Red Marlow, Chloe Kohanski and Keisha Renee on stage and sing “If It Will, It Will” by Hank Williams Jr. Carson is going to give the bottom two artists’ names and America will be given 5 minutes to tweet for an instant save. He asks for the five remaining artists to join him on the stage. He asks Ashland, what Miley’s support has meant to her, she says she couldn’t have imagined it in a million years. She has pushed her out of her comfort zone and told her to be confident in the person she is and that in itself has made her a better person and artist already.
Carson reveals that America saved Davon Fleming from Team Jennifer. He rushes over to hug her; she’s had a clean sweep tonight. America has also saved Ashland Craft from Team Miley, and she will be in the live shows next week. There is two left in Team Adam and one in Team Blake as Carson announces that America also saved Red Marlow from Team Blake. Jon Mero and Adam Cunningham have to perform when we come back from commercial and the instant save can make a difference.
Adam Cunningham is up first singing “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). He gets a standing ovation, Adam hates this because his guys are fighting each other. He calls Adam a “bad ass” and neither one of them should be in the bottom but he did as well as anyone could have done in this moment. Jon Mero comes out and sings “I Wan You Back” by The Jackson 5. Adam thinks no one thinks he should be going anywhere but they are at the mercy of everyone else. It shouldn’t be happening for either one of them, they deserve to be there and he doesn’t understand, it was an even keel, and I have to be right in the middle for this and will not pick one over the other and hope to God there is a new rule right now.
Adam joins Carson and Jon on the stage as Carson reminds everyone that it is in their hands to save someone. They have 5 minutes to instant save one of them and when we come back from the commercial, we will have the live results. When we get back from commercial it is extremely close and Adam has 54% and Jon has 46%, but there is still time. Adam tells Adam he has enjoyed his time with him and liked the process more than he thought he would. He thanks them all, especially Adam. Jon thanks Adam for believing in him from the beginning and a complete inspiration and will take those lessons for the rest of his life.
Adam Levine says this sucks and isn’t cool and will talk about the music, saying they are both extremely talented. He believes this is bittersweet and is proud of both of them and couldn’t have done anything better. One of them was instantly saved by America. Carson announces that America has voted and saved Adam Cunningham.
END!
