Blake’s team is up first with the pairing of 14-year-old Brennley Brown of California versus 24-year old Lauren Duski of Tennessee. Both contestants can’t believe they are working with Blake and Luke. They both encourage Lauren to put more emotion into her signing Better Man including some anger. She taps into her memories of a failed relationship and nails the song. Brennley is encouraged to work on her diction. They have to be able to understand what she is saying. Luke feels like he is watching stars being born.
Alicia loved them both and can’t believe that Brennley was able to express the emotion of the song even though she has not had the life experience. Gwen loved them both but would pick Brennley if she had to. Adam loved them both for different reasons. He loves Lauren’s grace and Brennley’s energy. Blake feels like Lauren is the best option moving forward for his team. She is thrilled. Gwen then steals Brennley for her team but before she can even congratulate her Adam tried to steal Brennley for himself. Adam leads a chorus of Happy Birthday to Brennley but she still picks Gwen.
Gwen’s team is up next with Celine and Gwen can’t believe she gets to work with this legend. 30-year-old JChosen from Georgia versus 30-year-old Kenny P from Ohio are the first pair to battle from Gwen’s team. Both are speechless that they have the opportunity to work with Celine. I Was Made to Love Her by Stevie Wonder is the song Gwen asks both men to perform. JChosen is so awe struck by both Celine and Gwen that he stumbles on his song. Celine encourages him to let go and sing with his heart. Kenny P is worried about competing again JChosen due to the powerfulness of his voice but Gwen has faith in him.
Both sing amazingly and Adam says they are dead even. He doesn’t envy Gwen having to make a choice. Blake and Alicia both think they are dead even but Gwen decides JChosen will continue on her team. His vocal ability and his stage presence can’t be denied. None of the other judges steal Kenny P.
16 year old from California Anatalia Villaranda and 34 year old from California Missy Robertson are the first battle for Team Alicia. DJ works with the women to perfect Tightrope by Janelle Monae. Alicia chose it because she thinks they both have the energy to do the song right. DJ appreciates both of the women’s ability to take direction and then make it better. The women’s performance is electric. Adam and Gwen love them both but Adam would pick Missy if he had to choose. Blake thinks it was an

28-year-old Felicia Temple from New Jersey and 13-year-old Quizz Swanigan from California are the next pair to battle for Alicia’s team. Alicia paired them together because of the soulfulness of their voices. Alicia encourages Felicia to feel the joy of the song while she pushes Quizz to hit the high notes. They will sing Titanium by Sia. Quizz is the youngest contestant ever to compete on the show and he feels he has something to prove. They both are so amazing but Gwen would go with Quizz while Adam would go with Felicia. Blake would pick Felicia. Alicia picks Quizz and Blake steal Felicia for his team.
Blake’s final pairing of the night is 23 year old Ashley Levin from Florida versus 26 year old Casi Joy from Tennessee. Ashley’s voice has such power while Casi has a class county sound. Blake says he knows he is going to feel sick when he has to send one of them home and this will be one of his toughest battles to judge. The battle begins with the women singing How Blue by Reba McEntire. Alicia loves them both but Gwen would go with Casi. Casi ultimately wins based on Blake’s gut feeling and all three of the other judges try to steal Ashley. All three coaches try to make their case but Ashley picks Alicia.
