Jeffrey Dean Morgan hasn’t been seen on the set of The Walking Dead lately. Negan had such a strong presence in season seven. It’s a little strange that he’s hardly around for season eight. Other characters absent in season eight include Rosita and Michonne, leading fans to wonder if one of them will meet their fate. There are also rumors swirling that Negan may not be around that much.
He is still very much the antagonist of the show, but Jeffrey Dean Morgan has not been seen on set since the first episode. The series is currently filming its fifth episode at the moment. It could be that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is busy filming Dwayne Johnson’s new movie Rampage. The movie also stars Joe Manginiello, Malin Akerman, and Naomie Harris.
Nobody is sure how big Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s role in Rampage is. It could be a minor part that requires him to film for one week. On the other hand, it could be a heavier role that requires more of his time. The reason why it’s too soon to judge is because of the source material.
Negan has already become a huge character. He’s one of the most popular villains on the show, whether you like him or not. He has become a strong presence with a big personality. He’s no doubt a huge character in both the series and the comics. He’s also the reason for the All-Out War taken place between leader Rick Grimes and the Saviors.
At the start of the All-Out War, Rick marches his large team (including people from Alexandra, The Hilltop, and the Kingdom) to the Sanctuary to fight Negan and The Saviors. Rick even leads a herd of walkers to Negan’s camp. The walkers then swarm the place, trapping Negan and his people inside. If the show follows the comic’s storyline, then it means by the end of the episode Negan is hiding somewhere inside the Sanctuary.
Any scenes involving Negan and the Saviors would take place indoors. That could be the reason why Jeffrey Dean Morgan hasn’t been seen onset as much lately. He’s probably doing most of his filming for The Walking Dead indoors as he films for the upcoming movie Rampage. This is just purely speculation at the moment. But Morgan’s character has become one of the biggest villains on The Walking Dead. It’s likely that he will have as big of a part in season eight.
