The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the CBS soap is dropping some huge hints. Adam Newman is likely headed back to the show in some form. Whether Michael Muhney reclaims the role or someone new takes over, Adam is needed in Genoa City and recent events tell savvy Y&R fan he’s coming. Let’s look at four major clues about Adam long-awaited return.
1. Christian’s paternity revelation
Y&R fans know that Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity has been kept under wraps for quite a while. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Victor (Eric Braeden) know Christian is Adam’s biological son, but they’ve chosen to leave Nick (Joshua Morrow) out of the loop. However, Victor’s threat to Chelsea on Friday’s new Y&R episode, Dec. 1, is a big clue about what’s to come.
The Young and the Restless probably wouldn’t stir this up again if they didn’t intend to deliver the blow. There’s a good chance Nick will learn Christian actually belongs to Adam, so that’s the perfect return setup. Y&R may bring Adam back to claim his child and start a war with Nick.
2. Newman family drama
There’s also serious drama going on within the Newman family right now. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) might patch things up with Victor soon, but what about the rest of the bunch? Nick and Victor could remain at odds indefinitely. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) are at each other’s throats as well.
The Newman clan’s crumbling, so dropping Adam into the conflict could make it better or worse! Either way, it’d be fun to see how the other Newman kids would adjust. When Adam plays by the rules, he’s Victor’s golden boy. Adam could become a fierce Newman leader if he can show loyalty.
3. Adam’s memory has been kept alive
Y&R fans know there have been several Adam mentions lately. The most recent one is particularly telling. In Friday’s episode, December 1, Chelsea and Nick find an ornament Adam left behind. Since Nick wants to hang it on the Christmas tree, that seems like a sign that Adam’s coming home. The show’s keeping Adam’s memory alive and letting Nick be a bit wistful about his brother. He should be blindsided later!
4. Soap competition is revving up
This might be the biggest indicator of Adam’s return from the dead. Competition is really revving up among the four main soaps. General Hospital’s ratings are soaring thanks to Steve Burton’s (Jason) homecoming. Days of Our Lives is also focusing on impressive returns. Even The Bold and the Beautiful is getting in on the comebacks with Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Hope (Annika Noelle) recasts.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say the show’s looking for ways to draw viewers in. Bringing an Adam recast on would do the trick. People love the character and would happily tune in for him. CDL polls consistently show an aproximately 90% approval rating for Michael Muhney’s return as Adam.
All of this probably adds up to Adam Newman’s reappearance down the road. Are you excited about the idea of Adam coming back to Genoa City? We’ll give you updates as other Y&R news comes in.
