The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Abby Stays at Newman – Epic Battle with Victoria Has Shocking Consequences

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) decision to accept her father’s apology establishes an epic battle between the Newman sisters. Victor (Eric Braeden) will pit his children against each other for the good of the company.

The Moustache offered sincere compassion to Abby. He also told Victoria (Amelia Heinle) that she’d handled Abby’s rebuke badly and appeared to be jealous of her sister. That was the first time viewers saw the script flipped, as Abby was always the one being accused of insecurities where her older sister was concerned.

The unexpected retention of Abby is good news for fans of Ordway’s character. In the recent past the flighty version of Abby would have stomped her feet, screamed and yelled and ran over to work for her mommy at Jabot. This matured version of Abby used her leverage to gain a better deal, which means more power and equal footing with Vickie.

Abby has fully demonstrated her loyalty to Victor during the past year, while Vickie was chasing after Billy (Jason Thompson) like a high-schooler and allowing Brash and Sassy to be run like a lemonade stand in the middle of a Wisconsin December.

Though to be fair to the perceived Ice Princess, Abby did throw a drink in her face at the Top of the Tower that resulted in a backwards fall and concussion issues. Then, Vickie was poisoned by the facial masks that Billy rushed to market. So, health issues have affected her behavior.

Victor needed a family member to fill the void left by Vickie’s previous departure and Adam’s (Justin Hartley) death. Of course Adam hadn’t worked for Newman Enterprises in years, but the personal hole that exists in Victor’s heart due to his son’s death and the current fight he’s involved in with Nick (Joshua Morrow) has surely taken a toll on the Black Knight. All personal and business factors therefore allowed Abby’s eagerness to be a godsend.

Scott (Daniel Hall) was also tapped to fill an executive spot. He’s remained in his role as head of Hashtag and as a workplace adversary of Abby’s. Victor believes in the team of rivals philosophy that great United States presidents, including Abraham Lincoln, and other world leaders believed and believe in.

So it’s not that Victor is playing Abby against Vickie for the pure sport of it. No, he believes, as many leaders do, that competition among skilled people spurs greater results than would normally be achievable.

That school of thought is also born out in a system that’s known as capitalism, which Victor, Abby and Vickie firmly believe in. Scott seems to as well. Newman Enterprises has created products that people like, as sales figures show and employment for many across the globe.

But in order to keep his corporate engine humming, Victor needs generals to lead the troops. That’s why this battle between the Newman sisters will surely produce personal drama. But the competitive juices that Abby and Vickie expend will also likely produce profits, which Victor loves as much as his daughters.
