The Young and Restless spoilers reveal that Y&R fans have lost two loved characters in the last year. Adam Newman (Justin Hartley) and Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) are no longer on the show and both are truly missed. Dylan left town and the character of Adam was allegedly killed off. Since The Young and the Restless fans clamour for both these fine actors the question naturally arises: which one of these guys could return?
Adam Newman was a very popular character on Y&R and had been on the show for several years. As we all know Adam was brought back to the show before after being presumed dead, so it’s without precedent for this be done again. Y&R buzz all over social media demonstrates just how much fans miss the character of Adam Newman.
Soap extremists went so far as to threaten to quit watching the show after he was allegedly killed off in the cabin explosion. Fans thrived on the love/hate relationship Adam shared with his father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). The Young and the Restless always made sure that Adam, whether played by Michael Muhney or Justin Hartley, was a larger than life character. With Sally Sussman focusing on ‘character driven’ storylines the return of Adam really could bring some excitement back to the show.
When it comes to Dylan McAvoy, he was a sweet, caring family man, that everyone got to know and love over a short period of time. The storyline with his character was just reaching it’s peak when fan-favorite Steve Burton was written off. Fans watched as Dylan said his heartbreaking goodbye to his wife, Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case), and walked away into the night.
Dylan left to go into witness protection to keep not only himself, but his family safe. So it’s not like the Y&R writers couldn’t bring him back as well. There so many possibilities when it comes to the storylines of Adam and Dylan. The writers could really surprise us all and draw everyone back in.
