The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam’s return should create some tricky situations. Whether Michael Muhney comes back or Y&R chooses a new actor, Adam is needed in Genoa City. That’s especially true as the show gears up for fall storylines. It’s never too early to start thinking about November sweeps.
Adam’s return would obviously draw in curious viewers. Since everyone in town thinks Adam is dead, there’s sure to be some major fallout when his survival is revealed. The Young and the Restless fans have been waiting for the inevitable “Chadam” reunion. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) manages to make her relationship with Nick (Joshua Morrow) work, but it’s just not the same kind of love.
However, Y&R may not put Adam and Chelsea back together immediately. It’s all about the buildup. We don’t know the reason Adam has stayed away for so long. If he didn’t want to be a burden or something along those lines, Chelsea may be furious. She wouldn’t like the fact that Adam put his family through so much pain.
Of course, Adam’s disappearance may not have been his fault. He could be locked up somewhere right now. There’s another option that would be quite intriguing though. Let’s say Adam was thrown a great distance and suffered a severe blow to the head. The Young and the Restless could easily take the amnesia route.
Adam might be living elsewhere with no idea who he really is. Since the cops believe Adam died in the explosion, nobody is looking for him. If he ended up in some remote area, perhaps he doesn’t have a lot of contact with other people anyway. Adam may be struggling to build a new life with no memories of his old one.
The Young and the Restless could set up some fateful moment where Adam and Chelsea’s paths cross. Maybe Nick, Chelsea and the boys could go on a camping trip. While they were out in the woods, Chelsea could run into her “dead” husband! Naturally, she’d faint from the shock.
Once Chelsea regained consciousness, they could try to sort this mess out. Back in Genoa City, Chelsea might have to make Adam fall in love with her all over again. It wouldn’t be too hard since they have such a deep connection.
Nick wouldn’t stand a chance, even against an amnesiac Adam. If Y&R recasts the role, this would help fans adjust to a new face. Chelsea and new Adam’s chemistry would have time to build slowly. Adam might agree to renew his vows with Chelsea after growing to adore her once more. That’s when the memories could come rushing back.
