The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Nick (Joshua Morrow) won’t be able to block family problems even though he’s just taken another step toward that goal. One of the more stretched and convoluted storylines in recent Y&R history will be resolved as a result. The Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal must unfold.
Let’s start with Nick’s twice ill-fated nightclub. Hardcore viewers recall the structural collapse earlier this decade. That near-tragedy saw Victor (Eric Braeden) save Jack’s (Peter Bergman) life, after which both characters shared the same hospital room. The light-hearted comedy written into that aftermath stands in stark contrast to the scripted war Victor is waging against Nick in 2017.
After previously agreeing to donate to charity the $500 million he received from his father in a legal settlement, Nick has now opted to cut ties with The Underground. Noah (Robert Adamson) wasn’t open to his father’s reasons, but was given the go-ahead to take over Genoa City’s seemingly doomed late night spot.
Nick told his son that he could have every penny of the insurance settlement, which would allow for a full rebuild. However, Morrow’s character decided that after this second disaster that his heart was no longer in his hometown business, or the chain Noah proposed.
Once again Nick believes that he’s distancing himself from Victor. Nick thinks he’s reduced his father’s ability to manipulate him by passing The Underground to Noah. But loyal fans know that a serious string is still held by the Moustache.
Victor independently determined that Adam (Justin Hartley), not Nick, was Christian’s biological father. Adam confided in Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) about that matter before he died. All characters kept said information from Nick in order to protect his feelings.
Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) untimely passing left Nick with his grief and a seemingly deceased Christian. The Sully (also Christian and Ozzy McGuigen) revert came after Adam died. That presented another opportunity for Victor, Chelsea or both to tell Nick the truth. They agreed not to and have stayed silent since.
Nick’s current significant other has apparently compartmentalized this secret, as Chelsea no longer speaks about it to anyone, including herself. However, the running feud between Nick and Victor implies that the truth will be used as a weapon at some point.
Vengeance is what Victor wants. What better way to apply pain than to tell Nick that Christian has never been his son? Unless The Moustache engineers a scenario where someone presents the reveal, say Chelsea, thus causing Nick to loose her as well?
