The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) revealed relationship status was news to Vickie’s (Amelia Heinle) ears. Having slapped Billy (Jason Thompson) off on Halloween night, the former Mrs. Hellstrom (and the former Mrs. Luckinbill in real life) appears ready to mingle.
Soap fans are sharp. So they’re watching the scenes between Heinle and Luckinbill while wondering what it’s like for the recently divorced, real-life couple to be working together on-screen. Could the seeming revitalization of J.T.V. also spurn Heinle and Luckinbill’s own reunion?
Good-hearted viewers surely would like to see Heinle and Luckinbill restore their family, as they have children. Hopefully, that happens. In fact, it is reasonable to assume that unless there was a fair degree of good will between the actors Y&R would not have brought J.T. back on-screen. Of infinitely lesser importance, though fictionally interesting, is whether Reed’s (Tristan Lake Leabu) presence in Genoa City will serve to draw J.T. and Vickie back together.
A sidebar to the story must be offered at this point, purely for the fans edification. J.T. was stunned to see Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) doppelganger sitting aside of Abby (Melissa Ordway) at the GC Athletic Club’s bar.
Y&R’s writing staff evidenced its adherence to Y&R’s storyline history, as J.T. was present while Cassie was alive, but wouldn’t have been made aware of Mariah’s (Grimes’ second Y&R role) incredible existence. A humorous piece of dialogue was crafted for Grimes to briefly explain the situation, followed by Abby’s dismissive affirmation.
J.T. initially enjoyed reconnecting with Abby, until she seemingly overreacted to his request to visit some old GC haunts. However, in Abby’s defense, she believed J.T. and Mackenzie (Clementine Ford) were still married.
Abby told J.T. off and then saw Vickie on the way out. Vickie mistook Abby’s suggestion to keep an eye on her ex-husband as meaning Billy, which was rather funny.
J.T. explained what he said to Abby and then admitted that he and Mackenzie have been separated for awhile. Mrs. Hellstrom left Poland with their two young children earlier this year and moved back to Washington, D.C.
Vickie’s former husband, meaning Luckinbill’s now-revived character, also revealed that he’d lost his job. All factors noted, along with both characters personal histories means that J.T. isn’t likely to leave GC anytime soon.
Vickie felt sorry for J.T. and invited him to be with her and Reed during the holidays. Compassion, rather than love was being offered. However, proximity, opportunity and time should allow both parties to reconsider their feelings and potentially, reignite J.T.V. in time. Being that this is soap, expect the rekindled relationship to develop slowly.
