The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers regret to share with our readers that Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) has suffered a personal tragedy with the loss a dear family member. Long-time Y&R star Doug Davidson recently asked his fans for prayers for his brother in law Michael Dee. Davidson took to social media at that time tweeting: “If you are the praying kind, please pray for my brother-in-law Michael Dee.”
The Young and the Restless fans from all over heard his request tweeting hundreds of get well wishes and prayers for Davidson’s family for which the always gracious Doug was grateful.
Today, September 1, we have an update and it isn’t good news – sadly his brother in law’s condition worsened and he has succumbed and passed away to his ailment early this morning. Doug Davidson tweeted: “My brother-in-law passed peacefully this morning into the arms of God. God bless his loving soul and all of you. Thank you from our hearts.”
Davidson debuted as Paul Williams in May 1978 and has been a fan favorite for all of these years on the popular CBS soap. He won his first Daytime Emmy in 2013 for playing Detective Paul Williams. Doug Davidson is popular with the CBS fan base he is known for his graciousness and always acknowledging his fans daily on social media, he never forgets to thank his fans on social media or at the Emmys on the mic.
Fans hope to see more of Detective Williams when new head writer Mal Young’s writing debuts this fall in October. No doubt the scoundrels in Genoa City will keep our favorite policeman busy!
