The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Gloria Is Great – Judith Chapman Must Stick With Y&R Cast

The Young and the Restless spoilers are detailing many of the great scenes that Judith Chapman (Gloria) is stealing since she returned to the cast. Her character reminds old-school viewers of Y&R’s golden era from the 1970’s through the 1990’s, even though she debuted in 2005. Now that Chapman is back fans are hoping she remains in Genoa City indefinitely.

Of course Gloria’s restart means a greater focus on her sons Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart), her daughter-in-law Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). That’s pay dirt for all fans, as this contingent has delivered many terrific individual and combined performances in the past. Yes, it’s obvious that Chapman’s glorious (no apologies, this reference had to be used once) reappearance was intended as a catalyst to offer new storylines for the four other actors noted.

Likey’s current dilemma involves Fenmore’s. Gloria pushed Lauren to do what she should have done months ago, which was to tell Michael that her family business was in deep financial trouble. However, Gloria sabotaged a nearly committed investor in order to further Jack’s (Peter Bergman) efforts to take over Lauren’s company.

Kevin was told by Michael that he and Lauren were finished playing host to “mommy dearest”. Therefore, Khloe may well end up with Gloria as its unwanted house guest. Considering the bitterness between Chloe and her former mother-in-law and the Bella (Cali May Kinder) paternity issue Gloria said she would uncover, all soapy matters between these ladies should remain delicious.

Chapman became one of the better supporting characters in the mid-2000’s. An early storyline had her fall in love with Jack’s father, John (Jerry Douglas). That arc was injected into character dialogue by Y&R’s writing staff to remind viewers, or inform newer ones, about Gloria’s history with Jack and the Abbott family. And it also made her seemingly sincere intent to help him obtain Fenmore’s all the more intriguing.

Y&R, like any enduring daytime drama, is enhanced when main, or longstanding characters have their backstories expanded. Michael Baldwin emerged in 1991 and later had his life story deepened when his half-brother Kevin Fisher unexpectedly appeared in 2003. Their mother descended in 2005.

Clearly the Newman and Abbott families rule Genoa City. But a variety of other clans, which includes the Baldwin/Fisher group, have helped to flesh out other sections of the city and surrounding area on this classic daytime soap.

All hail to Chapman for her great work. It’s as if she never left, after having sadly been missing for a few years. May Glo continue shining well into the future.
