The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kevin (Greg Rikaart) is headed out of Genoa City. This character will soon exit the CBS soap, which makes soap fans wonder what’s next for Greg Rikaart. He’s very popular among Young and the Restless fans, so it’s possible that he’ll land at another daytime drama.
The Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t seem to have extra room at the moment. The Spectra Fashions storyline brought several new faces. It also led the show to cut fan favorites like Linsey Godfrey (Caroline). In other words, they may not have a spot for Rikaart on B&B.
However, General Hospital is always bringing new characters on. GH buzz hints that they hoping to add even more to increase the ratings. Greg Rikaart would be perfect over there. It’s not difficult to imagine him mingling with the current residents of Port Charles.
Rikaart liked the idea of Kevin being gay, but The Young and the Restless producers never got on board. Y&R seems timid about going in that direction, but GH is more comfortable with gay characters. Could Rikaart get the storyline he’s looking for at General Hospital?
Days of Our Lives is another possibility to consider. DOOL’s new head writer, Ron Carlivati, is making big changes at the NBC soap. Some current cast members are on their way out and others are being added. Rikaart would certainly be a hit with Days viewers.
Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Paul (Christopher Sean) are the only gay characters on canvas at the moment, but their relationship could soon get thrown off course. Will’s (Chandler Massey) upcoming return is sure to shake things up. If Will and Sonny reunite, Rikaart could portray a new love interest for Paul.
Since Will’s return stint may not last too long, Rikaart’s potential character could have a chance with Sonny as well. Once Will is out of the picture again, Sonny and Paul could get involved in another love triangle. If you’re not familiar with these characters, all you really need to know is that Rikaart’s arrival would bring some variety. They could use more options on DOOL.
Y&R fans will miss Kevin and his portrayer, but it would be fun to see Greg Rikaart pop up on a different soap. Would you like to see him in Port Charles or Salem?
