The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Hilary Moves On From Devon – It’s All Over But The Crying

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) will move on from her life with Devon (Bryton James). While the final split won’t happen immediately, the presence of Jordan Wilde (Darnell Kirkwood) has flipped Hevon’s script. Devon signing the divorce papers won’t help either. These developments will also allow Devon to find a new love as well.

Agreeing to go out for drinks with Jordan doesn’t mean that Hilary will add the name Wilde to her driver’s license. However, by doing so she has sent a message to Devon that he’s not the only man in town. Competition means that Hevon isn’t Hilary’s sole option, a point that Devon has already realized and feels conflicted about.

Their marriage was strange from the beginning, a point that Devon made to his wife after he’d recovered his short-term memory. That happened after a New Year’s Day morning accident left him upside down, fighting for his life inside a wrecked sports car on the outskirts of Genoa City.

Nearly losing one’s life creates a natural change in perspective. As soon as Devon realized the chaotic patterns Hilary injected into his world, he knew that it was time to sever ties with her. Of course the catch to his choice involves a few billion (with a capital B) dollars.

The fortune that Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) left her grandson was intended to make his life easier, though the Duchess knew money can certainly complicate matters. Devon was a wise choice because he’s an honest person in most instances. The one area of his life where it can be argued that he faltered has a name. Yes, it’s Hilary.

To be fair, people aren’t always in full control of who they fall in love with. But once Devon’s heart was in Hilary’s hand the Hamilton family became a force of nature in Genoa City. Since that point they’ve rarely gone more than a few weeks without some type of disruption.

Hilary appears to be genuinely conflicted. She was willing to give Devon his freedom, but later rejected his request that she sign a legal agreement that forbid her from suing him at any future point. Devon wanted to make Hilary prove that tearing his $250 million goodbye check in half wasn’t an act. To-date she’s refused to sign-off.

In real life a troubled couple can sometimes move to a different state, or country in order to obtain a fresh start. Away from family members, friends and past history Hevon could see what life on their chosen island could be like. That’s not going to happen for this couple, as Genoa City is baked in as their home base. And with that being the case, Devon and Hilary will realize the end of their relationship.
