The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) won’t be with Billy (Jason Thompson) much longer. Corporate espionage will prove to be Philly’s undoing. Whether Phyllis’ dark backstory has once again doomed her is a matter that Y&R fans can subjectively decide.
Jack (Peter Bergman) decided to fight back against Billy’s latest betrayal. As Y&R fans know, Billy took Jack’s wife away awhile ago. At least that’s how Jack sees it. That’s also how he rationalizes the current vendetta he’s pursuing against his younger, loser brother.
After learning that Billy broke into Jabot’s server and accessed company secrets, the older Abbott brother will school his sibling in the fine art of payback. Feeding false information to Billy, by not securing the Jabot computer system, as Ravi (Abhi Sinha) suggested, is very petty. Yes, that’s very Jack.
Time has passed since Phyllis first fooled around with Billy, which eventually ended Phack. Jack was able to generally compartmentalize his feelings where the former Red was concerned. He did that based, in part, on his knowledge of Marco (also Bergman) having wronged Phyllis (for life). But Jack’s view of Billy has continued to submerge.
Billy took Jack’s grief for many months. But he eventually had enough and decided to fight back. Having secured Phyllis, Billy crafted a plan that he believed would simultaneously please his true love, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and smite Jack.
Phyllis will be beside herself when she fully confirms that her supposed love has violated her privacy. Billy appeared to be her third soul mate. Danny (Michael Damian) was first, Jack was second and Billy was going to be number 3. Nick (Joshua Morrow) doesn’t deserve to be put in the soul mate category because what he and Phyllis did to Sharon (Sharon Case) represented twisted lust, not love. And Summer’s (Hunter King) conception was therefore illicit.
In many hardcore viewer’s minds, Phyllis showed her true colors when she betrayed Jack. This is the woman who targeted a grieving mother’s husband. Plus she ran down Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) and never faced justice, among many other crimes and amoral acts.
So Phyllis being betrayed by Billy, albeit not romantically, makes sense. Billy is again violating family loyalty in trying to undermine the business his father founded. As for Jack, he’s now providing Billy with false information in hopes of destroying Brash and Sassy and potentially, having his brother arrested.
What goes around comes around in Genoa City. These three characters deserve whatever they get from each other. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
