The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the fire at The Underground will force many characters to reevaluate their lives. They, like all other rational individuals, will realize that all loved one’s lives matter.
Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) pulled Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) off her straight and narrow path again, just as Cane (Daniel Goddard) suspected he might. Y&R viewers recall that Lily (Christel Khalil) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) decided that Cane’s thoughts about the situation were misguided. So they ignored what he’d advised against, didn’t include him in their decision and allowed Meed to see each other again.
Reed has been neglected by Vickie lately. She’s been caught up in selling cosmetic products. Her use of Brash and Sassy’s facial mask actually resulted in toxic poisoning. The cause of that odd situation isn’t yet known.
Vickie allowed Reed to be unsupervised on Halloween night. That wasn’t wise, considering his past history.
Mattie and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) are caught inside their parent’s fight. Cane behaved recklessly in Tokyo, Japan, with Juliet (Laur Allen) months ago and then chose to sabotage Billy’s (Jason Thompson) commercial shoot in Los Angeles. The second event served to cut his ties with the twin’s mom and his wife.
The fire that erupted at The Underground was caused by Dina’s (Marla Adams) current mental state. She just had a stroke and should have been under constant care. Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) have done a lot for their mother. But they should have done more for her in this instance. They needed to be completely vigilant, or made sure that someone was with their mother at all times.
Some people deem themselves more important than others, like Vickie, who has a Victor (Eric Braeden) complex. Those types believe they must always be in control.
Other individuals are needy, like Cane. He revealed that he didn’t know how to control himself and then didn’t know how to handle the consequences of his actions, twice.
Then there are developing souls like Reed, Mattie and Charlie. Good kids who simply need the direction that imperfect adults offer them. It’s not that children their age expect perfection, they just want and deserve consistency.
Finally, there are older people who may have made willful mistakes in days gone by, but aren’t generally trying to intentionally hurt anyone during their advanced years. Dina has honestly acknowledged her mistakes and truly wanted to make peace with her family. She never would have started that fire on purpose.
Hopefully, all noted souls are rescued from The Underground. If one, or more is not, any connected character may never be able to forgive herself or himself. Ironically, Y&R spoilers indicate that it’s Billy whose life will hang in the balance as The Underground’s smoke clears. And Jack (Peter Bergman), who is currently in a most bitter conflict with his brother, who will strive hardest to save him.
