The Young and the Restless spoilers documented Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Lily’s (Christel Khalil) delicious verbal joust. Taking place before and during the taping of the ill-fated ‘Hilary Hour’ interview with Victoria (Amelia Heinle), both ladies clawed each other mercilessly. Lily clearly emerged as the winner.
Hilary and Cane (Daniel Goddard) had been sharing notes for awhile. Mr. Ashby hadn’t trusted the former Mrs. Hamilton and previously, Mrs. Winters, but he was willing to listen. Hilary was desperate for Cane to reunite with Lily because she wanted to take a competitor for Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) off the table.
Lily made an unexpected decision after asking Cane for a divorce. Vickie spoke with her about Brash and Sassy’s policy of employees not cavorting with each other, but specifically mentioned that Jordan was an independent contractor. Therefore Vickie said it was okay if Lily wanted to date him and encouraged her to do so.
Jordan was waiting outside Brash and Sassy’s mini corporate office after Lily heard Vickie’s advice. He had been respectful during ‘Lane’s’ extended breakup period. They did kiss once, but it was a mutual impulse. Their friendship and seeming chemistry implied the potential of a relationship.
Y&R’s fan base may have been expecting Jane to form during that scene, but Lily mentioned her vulnerable state, apologized for sending mixed messages and put Jordan in the ‘Friend Zone’ (Lily’s term). He wasn’t expecting that, but is a good guy and accepted her choice.
Jordan quickly went to Plan B (again, Lily’s term), which was Hilary. Lily later told the current Miss Curtis what she’d said to him about being friends, which ground in Hilary’s second-rate status.
As hardcore viewers recall, Hilary’s one-time spot as Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) wife and then as Devon’s (Bryton James) wife followed her having attempted to drug Cane as part of a setup. While Lily was able to tolerate Hilary at times, she’s never fully trusted her.
Lily enjoyed the verbal sparring with Hilary prior to Vickie’s interview. The soon-to-be-former Mrs. Ashby asserted her power over someone who’d long injected misery in her life and that of her family.
Hilary’s petty jealousy and seemingly insatiable desire to play games has left her with a website and connected television show, but no husband. She claims to want Jordan, but now knows that he sees her as a secondary option. Hilary is used to only being number 1.
