The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Michael Muhney Christmas Shocker – Gift of the Millenium Offered To Adam Newman Fans

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Michael Muhney will return to play Adam Newman again. A staggering pre-Christmas week cliffhanger will have the entire soap world talking. All who doubt this prediction might also be related to Ebenezer Scrooge, though DNA tests in Genoa City have not yet been scheduled.

Now, Scrooge is a fictional character, as all Christmas devotees know. He had a dream that allowed three spirits to visit him during a harrowing night, which resulted in a personal transformation the likes of which Scrooge, or those who knew him ever expected.

Might Adam Newman return to CBS daytime purely as part of a replayed episode on Monday, December 25, 2017? Could be.

Is it possible that the Adam character be seen in a dream by Victor (Eric Braeden), Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson, who returns for a brief reprisal, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), or some other character? Sure.

Could Adam actually return in the form of Muhney? Of course, as Y&R demonstrated that he was eligible for rehire when it interviewed him in the summer of 2014, after it had ended its employment agreement with him in 2013.

For the uninitiated – Many non-power brokers took to the internet after Muhney was unexpectedly let go days before Christmas four years ago. Some backed him, citing the United States legal system that presumes innocence. Others did not. Those misguided souls were citizens of the State of Gossip and Personal Destruction. They based their conclusions on zero evidence and full conjecture.

Now, let’s get back to the show. As fair-minded fans know, Justin Hartley did a fine job in replacing Muhney. Hartley offered an intended different take on Adam and received kudos all around during his two-year stint.

However, Hartley’s now staring on NBC’s hit This Is Us. So that strong actor will, in all likelihood, not be returning anytime soon. Could he do a Shemar Moore-esque, mini-reprisal at some point. Yes, but Malcolm’s circumstances were vastly different than Adam’s. So seeing Hartley play Adam for a few episodes wouldn’t seem to make sense.

Finally, the issue addressed in this feature obviously involves conjecture. But notice that it wasn’t sordid, mean-spirited or illogical.

Hopeful pieces have and will continue to be written about the Adam character and Muhney’s potential return because the actor has indicated interest in returning and Y&R has never said no. Plus, this is a soap opera. So why not entertain an escapist fantasy hope?
