The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Scott’s (Daniel Hall) predicament won’t be instantly resolved. He foolishly revealed information to Zack (Ryan Ashton) about Hashtag’s investigation into Genoa City’s sex trafficking ring. That blunder cost Scott his freedom.
Scott called The Moustache, hoping that he’d make Natalia’s (Tina Ivlev) dead body disappear. This situation was vastly different than when Lauren (Tracey Bregman) asked Victor to pay a $10 million ransom fee to Scott’s radical captor’s who were holding him and a friend hostage.
Victor (Eric Braeden) made the right moral choice once again. He had to call to Paul (Doug Davidson) and turn Scott into the authorities.
Considering the frantic messages Scott left on his voice mail, the information he’d been told when both men spoke directly and the recent disaster caused by helping Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) escape justice, Victor did not want to willingly entangle himself in another apparent mess.
Plot points have been put in place to potentially resolve this issue quickly. Paul was able to question Zack before he was able to take off. That conversation, combined with the voice mail Ashton’s character left for Abby (Melissa Ordway) should cause Scott to connect the dots during his think time in lockup, which assumes Abby will visit him.
Paul will likely also revisit the convenient nature of Zack’s story. If Abby saves and replays the message for Paul, he’ll also hear Zack’s admission of having a messed up life, which projected veiled guilt about undisclosed topics.
Abby’s seeming access to Design Date’s technology could also prove useful for Scott’s defense. That development would also deepen the growing bond between these characters, who’ve been teased as a future couple for months.
Alice (Tamara Clatterbuck) remains a wild card. She may not have met the same fate as Natalia and could easily bust the case wide open by making a statement to the GC Police Department, if she’s located or returns on her own somehow.
Savvy fans know that Mal Young’s writing staff’s episodes are now being shown. Past experience with behind-the-scenes switches indicates that this and various other arcs will play out to conclusions shortly.
Ashton plays a side character, whereas Hall is a regular. So Scott didn’t kill Natalia. Zack will be tagged as the head of the sex ring and the man who cruelly ordered that young lady’s demise. How soon all needed outcomes are realized is why the soaps are shown.
