The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Dylan’s (Steve Burton) final scenes are coming up on next week’s episodes, January 23-27. One of Fisk’s (Scott Speiser) men locked Dylan in the backseat and is taking him on a drive of doom. Where are they headed and will Dylan make it out of this alive? Those are questions Y&R will soon answer for us.
It looks like we may learn info right along with Paul (Doug Davidson). He’ll take a trip to Miami is hopes of figuring out what happened. Paul will fear that his son’s cover has been blown. He’ll be desperate to find Dylan before Fisk’s goons make him pay the price.
Paul will spot a few splashes of blood, but Dylan will still be MIA. This would be a nice setup for a presumed death, but The Young and the Restless might take another route. In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Steve Burton seemed to indicate that his last scenes were with Paul.
Burton suggested that he had a hard time getting through the emotional material with his onscreen dad. There are two ways this storyline could go if Paul is the last one to see Dylan. Option one is that Paul finally locates Dylan as he’s bleeding to death. Dylan could have a chance to say goodbye to his father before dying in his arms. How dramatic!
Then again, perhaps Paul will manage to save Dylan. He could break Dylan free from his restraints if he’s being held hostage somewhere. That might lead to a witness protection storyline. Paul could agree that it’s not safe for Dylan to go home. Fisk and his team could track him down. They would certainly target Dylan’s family.
Dylan might learn that Sharon (Sharon Case) has been a basket case during this mission. He could determine that she should be kept in the dark about his plans. Sharon would undoubtedly try to track Dylan down if she knew anything about his next identity.
Paul could keep Dylan’s fate a secret and inform Sharon that her husband is gone. He could imply that Fisk found out the truth and killed him. That would be somewhat cruel, but Paul and Dylan could believe it was for Sharon’s own good.
Plus, it would free Sharon up to move on eventually. If she knows Dylan is alive, Sharon may not be able to let go. Maybe it would be better for her to think Dylan is six feet under.
