The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) will face extended strife now that she’s returned to Newman Enterprises. The family company is in peril due to the Design Date disaster. Of course Victor’s (Eric Braeden) presence always makes for an unpredictable work environment as well.
Victor persuaded Victoria to buy Jill (Jess Walton) out. So the founder of Newman’s one-time division became the sole owner of Brash and Sassy. However, Vickie’s lack of focus, employee distractions and a series of bad decisions eventually forced a so-called merger to happen.
Victor agreed to enable his daughter to spin what was actually a take-back. He allowed her to become Newman’s Chief Operating Officer, thereby shifting focus away from Brash and Sassy’s acquisition. While that allowed Vickie’s business to survive, her choice to work for Victor quickly proved to also generate negative consequences. That’s not something she needed on the heels of her recover from toxic shock due to the facial mask fiasco.
Abby (Melissa Ordway), like her father, was fooled by Zack (Ryan Ashton). Though Ashton’s character will be killed by Crystal (Morgan Obenreder), the damage he inflicted upon Newman Enterprises will be too fresh to measure for awhile.
The Fed’s have frozen Newman’s assets after Crystal took control of the microphone at the Top of the Tower party, telling the world that Newman was funding a sex ring. While it’s true that the corporation had invested in Design Date, no one knew what Zack was really doing.
Vickie can be glad that Neil (Kristoff St. John) was brought on board to handle the company’s public relations issues. His familiarity with Newman Enterprises and connected family members should allow him to navigate very rough media waters in the days ahead.
Considering how Victor chose to push Abby aside and the existing conflict between the sisters, it’s questionable if Vickie will be able to count on Ordway’s character moving forward as anything other than an enemy. Newman’s new COO needs to add a few top executives to her staff, as she can’t go it alone.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) likely won’t be a candidate. Poor Adam (Justin Hartley) is dead, or, at the very best, is alive, but still missing. So that option won’t exist unless a recast is in the works. Therefore an outside force(s) will need to be tapped.
News that Thad Luckinbill (J.T.) has returned to the cast does offer a potential point of hope. While J.T. owns his own security business, possibly he might be the type of man Vickie can count on to help her at Newman? Viewers know that this real life couple split earlier this year and that V.J.T. Were divorced years ago on Y&R.
But this is a soap. So anything is possible, as Luckinbill’s return proves. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
