The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) didn’t have the sense knocked out of her recently. Yes, Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) drink-throw did result in her sister falling backwards onto her head at the Top of the Tower. Despite that likely concussion, Vickie remains clear-eyed about the man she loves.
Now Billy (Jason Thompson) is no peach, as tenured viewers know. But Y&R has matured the character significantly since Burgess Jenkins departed. That last sentence has nothing to do with that actor’s efforts, as he merely worked with the scripts he was given under former head writer Chuck Pratt, Junior’s reign. Instead, it’s quite obvious that current head writer Sally Sussman and her team have written a man into Billy’s head.
Vickie re-recognized Billy’s tenderness last year, when Jill (Jess Walton) suffered her heart attack. She reaffirmed his true devotion to their children during and after their most recent split. Having always considered him to be a good father, Vickie came to see even deeper degrees of Billy’s paternal instincts.
Losing Billy to another woman isn’t an accurate description of how Villy’s chance ended and Philly came to be revived. Vickie proved to be too icy for Billy’s patience. He came to believe, through his two-time ex-wife’s words and actions that Villy would never be resurrected.
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is hot. So it made sense that her desire to be with Billy was acceded to. And sorry, no apologies to those who deny this woman’s appeal.
This scribe liked Villy in its day and is equally okay with Philly right now. He also believes that Heinle, Thompson and Tognoni carry the collective chops to keep this trio’s tension alive for awhile. And maybe that’s the actual plan?
Instead of keeping Billy with Phyllis for years to come, or having him head back to Vickie in the immediate future Y&R may want to keep these character options indefinitely open. Many fans are likely familiar with a similar situation in their own lives. Yes, being in one, or more of these three player’s positions is something that various human beings can and will relate to.
Good soap involves believable relationships. Two people often remain emotionally connected long after they’ve stopped being legally together. New and sometimes unexpected personalities are often injected into these personal equations, which complicates matters. Whether in real life, or in Genoa City storylines aren’t wrapped up within one episode, week, month, or year. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless.
