The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Vincent Irizarry Returns To Y&R – Angelo Serafini Lives?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Angelo Serafini (Vincent Irizarry), who went by the alias David Chow, may not have been killed in a car accident as originally suspected in 2008. Out at Days of Our Lives this week, the super talented actor Irizarry could slide back into that villainous role once again.

A la Adam Newman (most recently played by Justin Hartley), Angelo may have escaped death and has been living abroad. This mob hit man returns to Genoa City and targets the Newman clan. Y&R would benefit from the infusion of a true villain now that Victor (Eric Braeden) has transformed into Grandfather of the Year and Chloe’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) sins have apparently been written off by Sally Sussman.

It’s been awhile, so newer Y&R fans might not be familiar with the character Irizarry once played. Hardcore fans might also admit that Angelo-David wasn’t the most memorable individual, due to his brief time in Genoa City and the stretched storylines he appeared in.

David (Angelo’s alias) originally came to town in response to the murder of his fiance, believing that Dru (Victoria Rowell) and Devon (Bryton James) may have been responsible. That plot pushed to a resolution.

Then, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ran against each other for a Wisconsin State Senate seat. David presented himself as a political operative, worked for both sides and became romantically involved with Nikki during one of Niktor’s ill-fated marriages. David and Nikki eventually married.

Paul (Doug Davidson) learned that David was actually Angelo, who worked for the mob. Nikki was informed of Angelo’s past and tried to break off their relationship. He tried to poison Nikki in order to gain her inheritance, but Paul and J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) intervened. A loan shark that Angelo owed a large debt to then apparently had him killed in a car accident, after which Nikki had what were believed to be his remains cremated and placed in horse manure.

Irizarry gained daytime fame by starring as Brandon Lujack Luvonoczek Spaulding on CBS’ beloved daytime steamer Guiding Light from 1983 through 1985. Lujack was killed off that year, but Irizarry returned to the cast in 1991. He played Alexandra Spaulding’s (then played by Beverlee McKinsey) twin son, Nick McHenry Spaulding.

Irizarry later worked on Santa Barbara (Scott Clark), All My Children (David Hayward), also briefly appearing on One Life To Live as the same character and then played Deimos Kiriakis on Days of our Lives. Deimos will be seen for awhile in Salem, due to this genre’s advanced taping schedules. So Angelo could return to Genoa City by summer.
