Unfortunately, Meg couldn’t take an assignment on tonight’s all-new episode “Blindspot” because she was undocumented.

Meg had traveled to the United States when she was a little girl and she had initially believed that her family had gotten there legally. Her parents had had paperwork and she had even gone to college using the information they gave her however she later found it had all been the lie. The papers had been fabricated and they wouldn’t last under true scrutiny which would be the case if she left the country or even applied for a passport. TSA would see right through anything she handed them and so tonight she explained to Zapata why she had to turn down a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Zapata though still had a few questions. She wanted to know if Meg was keeping this such a secret then why did she start dating Reade. Reade was the Assistant Director of the FBI and he could have easily reported her, but Reade hadn’t lead with that when he first started dating and so Meg only found out what he did for a living after it was too late to walk away. She had fallen in love with him and he had fallen in love with her. So before Zapata could ask any more questions, she and Reade had gotten called into work. Their team had been approached by Nas who had to need their help because there had been a breach at the NSA.

Someone had introduced the Negral virus to the NSA’s mainframe and, prior to that, they hadn’t known that the Negral virus had been real. It began as a myth and so learning that it had been real had come as a shock to Patterson. Patterson and Rich both knew that the virus had the potential of allowing someone to access the mainframe remotely so they got to work on tracking the virus. It had been tapped into by someone that had later taken control of a naval ship and so the techies had looked for a signature. The signature was someone’s trademark and everyone left that behind so they traced and it leads to the PopUp Kid.

The PopUp Kid was a hacker that popped up every now few hour with some form of new tech that they were willing to sell and so the team believed this PopUp Kid was going to sell their key to the NSA’s backdoor yet they later learned that the hack at the NSA had been an inside job. The federal government had had an employee named Betty Dupree and Dupree had gotten wheeled out of the office after suffering a seizure at the office. She had then got transferred to the hospital where she promptly signed her own self out before they realized her identification was fake. There hadn’t been a Betty Dupree and the NSA had gotten duped.

To be fair, the person that was supposed to check out Dupree’s job had actually turned out to be Dupree and so no one could be blamed for her slipping through the cracks. Nas just found it all embarrassing. She wasn’t with the NSA anymore and so her attachment to them was more sentimental than real though she became part of this case because of her association with Keaton. She worked for him as a freelance agent at the CIA and she was part of the team questioning Shepherd on all that she did as well as everything she played a part in. That’s how Nas found out that Hank Crawford funded Sandstorm and that Zapata was keeping a secret.

Zapata had been part of the team that was drugging Shepherd to get information out of her and that was something Zapata didn’t want her team finding out about however Nas told Zapata that such a thing could get out and that she should prepare herself. She could lose her friends and even her team. Therefore, Zapata told Nas that she knew the risks and that she was ready. She merely wanted to focus on the case in the meantime and the techies had made several breakthroughs. They found out Dupree’s real name was Delilah Dunny and that she had blown up that freighter to prove that her device worked so she already had a buyer lined up.

Dunny had accepted fifty million dollars as a half payment from someone on the dark web and so the team went looking for her buyer only to learn it was a kid. The kid was named Cameron and he was still in high school. He had a chip on his shoulder and was being raised by a grandfather who could reach him. It was a recipe for disaster and so the team tried to find another way of getting through the teenager. The teenager had allegedly stolen the fifty million he needed for the device from a company and that company had been a shell. It had been set up by a third party that allowed Cameron to “steal” from them because they needed him to buy the device for them.

The kid hadn’t known that he had been working with the Iranians. He said the people that had introduced themselves to him hadn’t seemed like they were from Iran and it turns out they had also promised to help if he got into trouble yet Patterson assured him that he meant nothing to the people he was helping. So he eventually handed over his cell phone to the FBI and they used that to make contact. They had Rich make the phone call and he revealed him to be Rich Dotcom to Dunny to get her to trust him so once she confirmed that he was who he said was – she agreed to meet him and so Rich asked her to meet him at a Dark Party.

The same Dark Party that Reade had already told him he couldn’t attend and so Rich used the drop-off to get around Reade. Reade had been upset by that, but he had allowed Rich’s plan to go ahead because everyone thought it made sense and so a couple of them went with Rich to the Dark Party. The Dark Party was a gathering for everyone that lived on the dark web and so Rich loved the party. He just hadn’t liked seeing Sho Ahktar again and neither did anyone else. They had all thought he was in jail and it turns out he had been released the moment he landed. And he went to the party to get his hands on the device.

He planned on stealing it from the buyer and seeing the FBI there had told him that he wasn’t the only one that wanted that device so the FBI kept him occupied. They kept him busy by using a decoy and then got their device from themselves, however, the job hadn’t been easy and Dunny had been the big bad wolf she was portraying herself as. She had been freaked out about selling the device and had needed assurances before she handed it. And even then there had been a problem when her secret partner at the party had almost made a run for it – so getting their hands on that device had been a battle and somehow Nas had stolen it from right under their noses.

Nas had wanted to use that device to buy her way back in at the NSA and the team had owed her anyways yet Nas had also done a favor for Jane. She had found out who was Avery’s biological father and it seems he had been a business pal of Crawford meanwhile Crawford’s own daughter had been trying to make a deal of her own. She had taken her boyfriend to a poker game and she tried to flirt her way to success when it all got ruined. She had gotten drabbed from the casino and there had been nothing that her boyfriend Roman could do to stop it. He was perhaps as lost as Reade who had tried to get his girlfriend papers and failed.

THE END!
