Blue Bloods begins tonight with Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and several officers leaving a complex when a few men wouldn’t get out of the way so they knock the door into his foot. They follow them, saying they don’t want the “piggies” there; Officer Thomas (Yasha Jackson) tells them to have a nice day and even pulls one of the officers away, saying it is not worth it. One of the men yell for them to take off their gun and badge and he would kick their ass right there, but they refuse to take the bait.

Frank (Tom Selleck) watches the video on the news saying “Cops Taunted at the Beame Complex”, when Abigail (Abigail Hawk) brings in Captain Espinoza into a meeting with him, Sid (Robert Clohessy) and Garrett (Gregory Jbara). He knows it is about the incident at the Beame complex; Frank feels the problem is the way the officers handled the situation and someone should commend them for not taking the bait. Sid says the only point is his cops are afraid to end up in the paper under a police brutality headline and he approves them to be abused and ridiculed; bringing shame to the entire department. Frank reminds him of the oath he took did not include the words “Play nice!” and dismisses him.

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) meets Molly (Stephanie Andujar), who just did 9 months inside. She tells him about a store that is selling guns out the back door. He doesn’t want to be buttered up; but she isn’t doing this for a letter or kissing his ass, she talks about her brother being mixed up in a gang. All she wants for the freebie about the guns on the street is for him to have a conversation with her brother.

Jamie (Will Estes) is ordered into the Captain’s office, revealing he got his ass kicked and handed back to him by the Commissioner, feeling that Jamie is reporting back to his father about what is happening at the 29 precinct; which Jamie denies. The captain brought him there on his reputation, but if he is a snitch he will have his ass, not caring who his daddy is. Jamie leaves the office furious telling Eddie that it makes the police look like they are running with their tails between their legs. Eddie feels it would have escalated things, she should have cuffed them up and shut the whole thing down.

Erin (Bridget Moynahan) meets Nicky (Sami Gayle) and her new boyfriend, Nicholas (Dan Amboyer) for lunch. They explain how they met and how aggressive Nicky was at the coffee shop, defending her actions considering the coffee cup had the same name on it. Erin doesn’t seem so taken by Nicholas and wants to know how old he is; he simply looks at a worried Nicky.

Danny stops Romeo in the streets, who tries to walk away when he sees Danny is a cop. He knows that he is Molly’s cop crush, but Danny suggests they have a coffee and start there, when he declines and begins to walk away, Danny spots that he is carrying a gun and arrests him.

Erin talks to Anthony (Steve Schirripa) about Nicky’s relationship and that Nicholas is 30, but Nicky is only 22. She feels 8 years is a huge difference and they are disgustingly cute together; she hates that they have puppy love, wanting to gouge out her eyes. Anthony reveals to Erin that they know Nicholas’ uncle.

Donnie is back at the precinct when Molly barges in. He doesn’t find it funny that he arrested a 16-year-old running around the city with a loaded gun. He reminds her that she is not innocent in this either. She is sorry for coming in all hot and he apologizes, knowing it is difficult because he is her baby brother; he says he will talk to him but Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) comes back revealing ballistics came back on the gun, and it’s got 5 bodies on it!

Garrett is escorted into a private room, where Frank announces that nothing has happened yet; they watch the TV as everyone is standing by for the PC’s command, feeling Garrett might want to see this life. Frank gives the go ahead and a raid happens at Beame Complex, using SWAT, helicopters and tanks. Frank looks at Garrett, not a smile to be seen.

Dozens of people are arrested with the heavy NYPD presence; anyone who has committed a crime or has outstanding warrants, including parking tickets has been rounded up and taken by police. Jamie tells them to get the press back as people are led out with chains and handcuffs; Eddie catches someone escaping through a back window, arresting him. He says he wouldn’t need to run if he didn’t do anything.

Romeo swears he was only holding the gun for someone. When he refuses to say who, Danny and Baez tell him that gun was used to kill 5 people and since it was found on him; he is the one who murdered them. He tells them he can’t tell them as Baez wonders if he is scared about getting whacked if he talks, but he remains mum.

Nicky walks in to see Erin, Anthony escapes the office in order for Erin to talk to her. Nicky says she likes being with Nicholas, someone who is more mature and experienced. Nicky reveals she is more experienced than her mom would like to think. Erin reveals that Nicholas’ uncle is Ray Giannopoulos and his sister is Sofia Papadopoulos. Ray has deep ties to the mob and is currently under investigation by Erin and is going to court in less than a month. She feels this might not be a coincidence at all, saying Nicholas works for one of his uncle’s umbrella companies. Nicky wants her mom to be happy for her and that not everything is about her.

Frank comes home to find Jamie having a drink; he has something on his mind but came to talk as his son and not as a cop. He feels they used a sledgehammer to bang in a couple nails today at the complex and Frank agrees, but the tit for tat response is like a slap in the face; Jamie worries about the community relations. Frank has mixed feelings about it, revealing as a boss they don’t know what to do all the time and if they wait for the right time to make a decision, you will never make it; the hard part is learning to live with yourself if you made the wrong one!

Garrett watches as the residents talk about the NYPD raid to their complex. He interrupts Frank speaking privately with Sid and Abigail, saying the resident is right about them looking like an occupying army and the images support his position. Both Frank and Sid feel that is a good thing but Garrett wonders what happened to community policing? Frank tells Garrett that this is his problem to worry about, not his and gets back to talking about another raid in another complex tomorrow, shocking Garrett.

Danny meets with Molly, who spoke to Romeo, revealing who gave him the gun and the address; saying Jimmy Mattson who gave him the gun. Danny shows her that he brought Jimmy already in, using all his Cis he could find and hopes he will crack. She’s grateful he would do that for her.

Garrett calls a meeting with Abigail and Sid, behind Frank’s back; he strongly feels Frank is overreacting but they disagree and the PC recognizes that if you give them an inch, they will take a mile. She feels that Garrett needs to trust Frank’s judgment and step back.

Family dinner at the Reagan house, Danny tells Sean to put the phone away as Jack is communicating. Everyone learns that Danny is teaching Jack a lesson because he has been skipping classes; Erin says it is not the end of the world, but Eddie agrees with Danny since her dad didn’t care what she did at all. Frank doesn’t think he was strict with any of his children, saying their mother always cut his punishments in half but if they want to talk about strict they should look at Henry “Pops” (Len Cariou); who firmly believes in spare the rod, spoil the child. Danny compromises to cut his punishment in half, making everyone happy.

Nicky is alone with Nicholas, wishing her mother wasn’t coming by later because she left her stuff behind. Nicky goes to the bathroom to “freshen up” and Nicholas immediately throws off his jacket looking through Erin’s files, taking photos of the pages. He sits back down and Nicky returns saying he is very charming, wanting to take a picture of that look, grabbing her phone, saying she hates when her mother is right and shows him the video of him taking the pictures.

The holding cells are full at the 29, Eddie tries to speak to Jamie who said he is too busy; the toilets are overflowing in both bathrooms and he asks for a second. Jamie reveals the guy she got from the complex looked familiar, that he is a murderer; the maniac who hacked up an entire family. She shows him the composite sketch and the photo of the guy.

Garrett is troubled by Frank’s action and attitude as Frank says if he doesn’t stop he will call security on him. Garrett says this shock and awe is not in the best interest of the community. Frank says he is concerned about the silent majority, who saw what those thugs did to the NYPD. He reminds Garrett that actions speak louder than words and people need to feel safe again.

Jamie shows Captain Espinoza the file, saying Officer Janko is the one who arrested him and he is on guard until the detective from the original case can get there. Janko also took a bottle of water to test his DNA against the murder scene; he is told that he did good work but he says the credit is due to Officer Janko. Espinoza tells Jamie there will be better cops in this precinct because of his leadership, including him.

Danny shows the dead people to Romeo, who were killed by the gun he was carrying; each person was killed by another individual and the only way to be initiated into the gang is if you kill someone yourself. Romeo admits it is “Blood in, Blood out” as Danny asks him if he was going to do it or not, but Romeo says he doesn’t know. Danny says each of the tough guys ratted on each other and are going to serve 25 years, except for the one who talked first, he will get 20 years. Danny tells him to choose to either join the knuckleheads and end up in prison until he is an old man or lives a straight life. Romeo says the straight life, no doubt!

Danny tells him he is going to do 3 months for the gun, to show him the life he will have if he doesn’t live the straight life. Molly sits with Danny, thanking him for doing all this. Danny says there is no way to know for sure of Romeo would have done it, but odds are someone is walking around alive because of her, so it’s good on her! She thanks him for going the extra mile but he says that is just his job. She disagrees as most cops would tell her to piss off. Danny says he isn’t an angel either and that is probably what played a role in this.

Danny reveals there is no Mrs. Danny the cop, his oldest is off to college and his 16-year-old will be off soon and then he will be alone. He feels he is incompatible with anyone but she says they are total opposites but somehow they have more in common than people think. She says they have one big thing in common – she is no angel either. Molly hears him that it may be too soon, she is going to let him go, but not let him go. She walks away calling him a good cop as he smiles.

Nicky visits Anthony and Erin who are proud of her surveillance. Nicky says Erin has earned the right to gloat, but she doesn’t as Nicholas was using her. Nicky is proud of busting him but she is hurt that the guy she liked didn’t like her back. She wanted to feel like she was a woman of the world but in reality, she is just a little girl. This wasn’t real but Erin reminds her that she learned a lesson for the next guy, a much younger guy! Nicky says she will be okay after some Netflix and ice cream but Erin suggests they go out for a Martini instead.

Espinoza brings the file to Frank, where there is a perfect match for the murder, saying Officer Janko and Sgt Jamie Reagan who deserve the credit; he says this arrest also should be credited to Frank. Frank thanks him and tells him good work as Sid says it’s a win but Garrett says it is his job to make sure the NYPD doesn’t get a black eye in the press but he is starting to come around to the idea that it is also his job to know that sometimes getting a black eye is worth it. Sid and Abigail both taunt him, wondering where the “however” is; but Frank thanks him.
