Tonight begins with Gabi Dawson (Monica Raymund) stopping by to see Bria (Quinn Cooke), seeing how she was doing. She offers to hang out and play cards. At the firehouse, Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) is fixing the legs of the table, while Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) suggests he could have just jammed paper under the legs; he scoffs, saying he won’t take advice from a woman who duct tapes her mirror to a wall.

Gabi arrives and tells Severide about her visit with Bria, saying there were no drugs in Bria’s system and feels there is something off with her whole story; he agrees that she didn’t seem like trouble either. Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) walks into the dining area when Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) and Brian “Otis” Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov) tell her that she missed doing the grocery run for the apartment, and they are almost out of toilet paper.

When she doesn’t bicker over which brand they demand, Otis wants to know who the guy is; she reminds them it is no one’s business and they don’t need to broadcast her personal business all over the firehouse. Randall “Mouch” McHolland (Christian Stolte) raises his hand, saying he has a guess but quickly puts its down realizing it is completely the wrong time. Otis comments that it is cute she doesn’t want to say, but everyone knows she can’t keep a secret.

As soon as Brett and Gabi get into the rig, she tells Gabi it is Antonio (Jon Seda) but doesn’t want to make it a “thing.” They get a call and are quickly off to a vehicle-pedestrian accident, where Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) discovers a CPD Officer has been struck by a car and has been impaled through his neck by a picket fence. CPD Officer Harris is freaking out, saying it was a routine call and the truck came out of nowhere. Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) tells him he needs to let go of Louis so they can pack the wound. They cover his face as they cut off the fence, but the process is slow which upsets Harris; Matt tells him to take a walk and let the paramedics do their job.

Julian Robbins (Michael Cognata) surprises everyone, but his sister, Donna (Melissa Ponzio) insists he can stay with her and her husband, Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) while he is in town. Donna is unable to take the day off and Julian would love to see Wallace in action, so He gives him a tour of Firehouse 51.

Sylvie thinks Gabi is worried that she can’t sleep with Antonio again without getting hurt, but she promises she can handle herself. Before they can leave the hospital, Gabi sees Bria leaving the hospital, who says her dad checked her out and she is taking the bus. Gabi gives her a ride home in the rig but when he wants to walk her p to the apartment, she refuses. Gabi tells Sylvie she doesn’t like the situation and follows Bria into the building and knocks on the door, demanding to know what is going on. The older man continues to cough as Bria tells Gabi she doesn’t understand, this is her dad!

Gabi sits at the table, where Bria says her dad got hurt at work and got hooked on painkillers; and now she has to take care of him because she is all he has. Gabi says her father needs professional help and Bria can’t give him that. She pleads with Gabi to not call social services; and promises to get help but needs time to figure it out for her dad. Gabi rolls her fingers for a few minutes then gives her a card with her phone number on it, saying to call her 24-7 if she needs anything.

Boden comes out and hears Julian telling stories to SQUAD. Donna arrives to take Julian with her, but he tells Boden he wants to talk to him about an opportunity, he says he will talk later. Gabi confides in Severide about what happened with Bria, but Matt overhears and Gabi gets defensive, saying he could trust her judgment; instead he feels he should trust his own judgment and stay out of the conversation.

Herrmann and Boden talk about how he really feels about Julian. Boden is sure he is only interested in himself, but his wife sure is taken by her younger brother. Boden tells Herrmann he is going to handle this situation on his own.

At the apartment, Cruz, Sylvie, and Otis are talking about movie night but the second Brett has a chance to escape, she does. Antonio and her talk about how they weren’t going to make it into a “thing”, but immediately fall back into bed together at his place.

Boden sits with his son, Terrence and brother-in-law, Julian in the living room. Julian wants to talk about a project he is working on. He reached out to a fire equipment manufacturer who is trying to get his foot in the door in Chicago. He is looking for $5,000 for 100 fire retardant gloves; Boden agrees to look at the information.

Stella is behind the bar at Molly’s when Severide shows up. Sylvie looks at Herrmann’s jaw, saying Officer Harris punched him good. She says it is not broken but he needs to keep icing it. Otis talks to Cruz about trying to figure out who Brett is dating as Cruz is sure it is a doctor from Chicago Med; Gabi tells them it isn’t. Gabi’s phone rings from an unknown number and she tells the caller to “slow down,” she looks at Severide and says she needs to go, as it is Bria and she’s in trouble.

Severide and Gabi arrive, as Bria says he has been sick since last night and hasn’t stopped throwing up. He begins to seize, as Severide calls for an ambulance. He stops breathing, Severide and Gabi bring him to the floor and being chest compressions, they are able to bring him back as paramedics arrive. Gabi explains that he is going through withdrawals from opioids, running a fever, they lost him but got him back and pulse is strong. They intubate him as Bria continues to panic in the corner; Gabi tells the paramedic that Bria can ride with her dad, but before she gets in the ambulance she tells Gabi they are going to split her and her dad apart now.

Gabi comes home, wraps herself in a blanket and lays on top of Matt on the couch, saying she is okay now. She apologizes for her attitude earlier, he does too, but she doesn’t want to talk about it.

The next morning, Severide asks Gabi how Bria is. Matt lets go of her hand as she says Bria was still sleeping in the bedside chair and her dad was stable and had an IV in him. Nurses didn’t mention anything about child service and Severide says he will visit her after shift, saying she was a brave kid. Once inside the firehouse, Matt tells her they are not communicating and it doesn’t matter how he feels because she will do whatever she is going to do anyway. She just wants to get through the day to see what is going to happen to a teen girl who reached out for her help.

Boden sits with Herrmann and Mouch, saying he has two choices, either give Julian the check knowing the CFD will never see the money again nor any fire retardant gloves OR he can confront him and hopefully, he can survive the fallout from Donna. Herrmann says its a loser either way he slices it.

Cruz is in the kitchen when Otis says he figured out who Brett is dating. He says it is Antonio and he is 99% since he heard her say “Diego” on the phone and found a Men’s large Chicago Police Department shirt in the apartment dryer that morning. Cruz is determined to say something because they don’t want her to be hurt going down that road, but neither pipe up when she walks into the kitchen.

While on the way to a call, Gabi tells Sylvie if she ever wants to talk about Antonio, she is there for her. Gabi says she has been told she is an awful communicator but Brett says that isn’t true with her anyway. They stop at Chicago Med, where Sylvie goes to get supplies and Gabi comes to see Bria. Tina, from family services, is there to see Bria Jamison. Gabi says Bria is a good kid and asks Tina to take a longer look at this one, saying she has a good heart, but when they get to her dad’s room, Bria has vanished.

Gabi talks to Matt and Severide about it, but he tells her not to beat herself up since Bria was headed for foster care long before she came into the picture. She is upset that she keeps doing this, with Bria and with Louis; she leaves for a walk.

Julian comes to the Firehouse, saying he appreciates everything Wallace is doing. Julian says he wouldn’t sell him these things if he didn’t see them tested himself. He knows what they can do and knows the people in the firehouse. He tosses a box of the gloves towards Boden, saying the client came back with a discount, and it is $3,338.00. Boden shakes his hand and writes a check.

Cruz and Otis talk about how burn victims often go back to where they got burnt before. Sylvie wants to know who told. They say they care about her and don’t want anything bad to happen to her. She feels they don’t think she can take care of herself. She says there is a new rule, they are to leave her things in the dryer.

Sylvie is enjoying a fancy dinner at Antonio’s place, he says that his mother taught him to cook, saying that she told him to save some of the surprises for the special ones. He kisses her forehead, saying she is one of them. She stops him, saying there has been miscommunication around lately. She wants to stay and eat with him but they both agreed that they don’t want to “catch feelings” and she meant it. She thinks he is great and what they have is a lot of fun, but beyond that, it doesn’t work. He says they are still in agreement. She says if she stays and drinks a little wine, they will do this again and again and one of them will end up hurt and this is where this leads. She tells him they were right the first time; she kisses him, grabs her jacket and leaves.

Gabi talks to Severide at the bar, asking him if he was 16, scared and alone and doesn’t want to get caught. He says there is stretch Milwaukee Avenue, where teens stay in encampments and she probably knows about it. He goes with Gabi. Herrmann is still nursing his jaw when Donna comes to see Wallace at the bar. She admits Julian told her about what he did for him. Donna laughs when he says that he didn’t really trust Julian, but she said that she hoped Julian would win him over but couldn’t force it.

Severide and Gabi arrived at the sketchy part of the Milwaukee Avenue encampment, where they begin to ask around for Gabi. Meanwhile, Matt arrives at Molly’s looking for Gabi. No one seems to know who Bria is.

END!
