Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a huge return is coming up. According to a new issue of Soap Opera Digest, Arianne Zucker is headed back to the NBC soap as Nicole. The details are being kept hush-hush, so there’s no word yet on how long she’ll stick around. However, it looks like Nicole’s comeback is set for October. She should shake things up for Eric (Greg Vaughan) this fall.
DOOL fans know Nicole finally decided she was ready to be with her true love, so she broke up with Brady (Eric Martsolf). She hoped he’d understand, but the split was brutal. Brady had spent a lot of time and energy helping Nicole flee to Canada with Holly. He worked hard to build his world around the woman he adored.
After their plan fell apart and they went back to Salem, Brady suspected that Nicole was falling for Eric again. She denied it, but Brady’s suspicions ended up being spot on. After Nicole’s confession, she faced a vicious blackmail threat and was forced to leave town. Nicole had to walk away from Salem or risk being thrown in prison for Deimos’ (Vincent Irizarry) murder.
Obviously, there’s plenty of drama left to unpack. Days of Our Lives will have a chance to let Nicole explain herself to poor Eric. He figured out Brady was to blame for Nicole’s abrupt departure, but he needs to hear the details from her. Nicole may come back to pour her heart out and beg for another shot at being together.
Now that Brady’s moved on with his life, will he willing to give Nicole a pass for her actions? Perhaps Nicole will even show a little of her old fire and fight back! Nicole’s biggest problem may be the fact that Eric’s moved on as well. He’s found love with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), so that could create quite a love triangle.
Of course, a lot can happen between now and then. Days buzz suggests a new love interest could be brewing for Eric pretty soon, so Nicole may have loads of competition. Can she win Eric’s heart back? That depends on how long this Days of Our Lives stint lasts.
If Nicole’s return is long-term, you can bet “Ericole” will be reunited. If it’s a quick trip, their romantic obstacles should be too much to get past.
