Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a new blind item has fans buzzing. This hint could involve any of the main daytime dramas. However, we should be able to narrow it down. Soap Opera Digest suggests that one soap’s planning to kill off a character that never clicked with viewers. Let’s consider the options, including a biggie on Days.
The Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t really have any newbies floating around to kill. They already ditched a bunch of characters, so it seems nobody’s in danger now. The Young and the Restless has a character named Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) that was never a smashing success, but she was one half of a scrapped same-sex love story. Y&R might be begging for trouble if they killed her, too.
General Hospital has a couple of characters that fans have struggled to connect with. Peter (Wes Ramsey) and Nelle (Chloe Lanier) tend to receive a lot of social media hate, so they’re possibilities to consider. However, GH may give Peter more time to cement his spot in Port Charles. Chloe Lanier recently won a Daytime Emmy as well, so maybe that statuette will keep her around for a while.
That brings us to Days of Our Lives. DOOL fans can probably guess the character most likely to be killed off. Stefan (Tyler Christopher) could be the answer to this blind item. When Tyler Christopher joined the cast, many daytime drama fans were excited. Christopher was popular as Nikolas Cassadine on GH, so he’s pretty well-known in the soap world. Signing him was considered a huge score for Days.
Unfortunately, Stefan was given a loathed storyline right off the bat. It didn’t take long for Days to launch this DID plot, which involved Stefan sneaking around with mentally ill Abigail (Marci Miller). He fell in love with her alter, “Gabby,” so that made Stefan look selfish, stupid and just plain crazy. After Stefan raped Abigail, that really sealed the deal on all the hatred for his character.
It became pretty much impossible for anyone to click with this guy, so that lines up with the blind item. Perhaps Days intends to cut their losses and just ditch this failure of a character. That’s especially true since there’s buzz about EJ’s return. Whether James Scott reprises his role or we get a recast, he can easily slide in Stefan’s spot as the devious DiMera. EJ’s charm lets him get away with far more.
After everything that’s happened, it would be awfully tough for Stefan to recover. Days of Our Lives spoilers say he’ll continue to cross lines, so maybe the show will eventually set up Stefan’s shocking death. We’ll give you updates as other DOOL news comes in.
