Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that viewers are bracing for a tough goodbye. Back in June, Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) made an announcement that shocked DOOL fans. On Twitter, Dattilo explained that he’d be exiting the show after over 25 years. Based on the wording of his tweet, it seems he was fired and quickly written out.
Dattilo said, “25 years. 2 months. 12 days. And 4 hours. Good run. Thanks to my Days family and fans. Enjoy Lucas while you can.” Due to the advanced taping schedule, we still had a few months of Lucas Horton scenes to savor. Sadly, there aren’t too many left now. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Lucas will wrap up his run around mid-November.
Plenty of Lucas lovers are going to be bummed when he goes. On the bright side, Lucas should get some gripping material on his way out. Days fans know Lucas has really bonded with “Baby Bonnie.” He fully believes she’s his little girl, so he’s going to be crushed by the truth.
Lucas was eager to raise his new daughter, but he’s about to find out she’s his niece instead. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) will blow the lid off the baby charade. Her DNA evidence will leave Lucas reeling. He’ll have no choice but to hand the baby over to her rightful parents, Rex (Kyle Lowder) and Mimi (Farah Fath).
DOOL viewers know Lucas is a recovering alcoholic. It’s a constant battle, especially when disaster strikes. Will Chloe’s news spark another relapse? That’s one possibility to consider. Lucas could enter rehab and seek a fresh start elsewhere when he gets out. Of course, that’d happen off screen since it sounds like his initial exit will be the end of the road.
Days could always skip the rehab part and go straight for the new beginning. Lucas might move to another city and try to heal his broken heart. Being around Allie might help. Sami (Alison Sweeney) would be glad to see Lucas reconnecting with his daughter, so he’d be welcome anytime.
