Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that things will take a dark turn on the NBC soap. There’s been plenty of fun stuff going on lately, but some heavy DOOL drama’s about to hit. Days recently dropped a huge anvil about where one story might be headed. Unfortunately, it suggests a terrible outcome for Nicole (Arianne Zucker).
Of course, we knew the show would need an excuse to write Nicole out again. She’s not sticking around, but this return still had to happen. The truth about Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) blackmail needed to come out and it was nice that they could tie up some loose ends for “Ericole.”
Unfortunately, this Days comeback also creates a problem. Eric and Nicole are clearly soul mates. No matter what the show throws at them, they always manage to find their way back to each other. Drunk Eric caused the death of Nicole’s fiancé and “baby daddy,” so there’s obviously no hurdle too large. Nicole is always drawn right back to Eric and when she’s an option, Eric never gives up on her.
That’s an issue since Nicole has to go and Eric will still need to be paired up with someone. He’s far too handsome to waste! If Nicole simply disappeared, Eric would probably just keep searching forever. He would have trouble letting go of all his dreams for their future. The same goes for if Nicole revealed she was moving again. Eric already assured Nicole that they could live anywhere she wants.
That brings us to the Days anvil we mentioned. In a vulnerable moment, Nicole urged Eric to take Holly and raise her himself. She hated the idea of Holly growing up a prisoner with Xander (Paul Telfer). It just isn’t a good life for her. Eric insisted that Nicole had fought too hard to be a mom. He convinced Nicole that they would all be together as a family, but that’s not going to happen.
Will Eric end up fulfilling Nicole’s wish after all? He may be forced to if Nicole dies in an upcoming explosion. There have been rumblings about a soap killing off a somewhat popular character. Nicole is generally liked by DOOL fans, so she fits a recent Soap Opera Digest blind item on that topic.
Plus, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Eric will get crushing news on October 23. Will he find out Nicole has perished? That seems like a good possibility. Nicole will probably just be presumed dead, but it doesn’t matter anyway. Anyone can be brought back to life with a soapy excuse.
Still, Eric would believe it and accept the loss. He’d have to grieve and hopefully take Holly home to raise. Days of Our Lives viewers would love to see Eric as a dad! Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) will head back to Salem on October 26, so Eric’s next love interest will be waiting in the wings. All the puzzle pieces add up here, so Nicole may face a horrible fate.
