Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers is pleased to pass on some exciting casting news. Days has cast American Idol contestant Thia Megia on the NBC soap. Thia will portray a character named Hayley Chen who will at least initially interact with JJ (Casey Moss).
Thia was a contestant on the 10th season of American Idol, making it into the group of top 11 performers that season. She has also appeared on several TV series, including A Scary Sleepover, Tails Of The Blue, and Pop Music High.
Thia was introduced at the recent Day of Days, and she told the crowd a bit about her character. “It’s such an honor,” she said. “As far as my character, she’s had to endure so much in her past and to take on a role where she’s just full of strength and she’s such a vast character with so much depth. I’m just so grateful that they chose me to tell her story. It’s been amazing.”
The new Days 2018-2019 promo (shown below) offers a little more insight into what Thia’s character will be all about. She’s shown introducing herself to JJ at the hospital and wearing scrubs, so she’s likely either a young physician, resident, or medical student. And it certainly looks like JJ will take an immediate interest in her.
