Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Tripp (Lucas Adams) is about to get a big surprise. Recently, Tripp has been caught up in his own drama with Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Ciara found out that he planted evidence against Ben and their relationship ended. All of this has been keeping Tripp busy, so much so that he hasn’t really noticed his father’s absence from Salem.
Of course, Steve (Stephen Nichols) has been away ever since he was arrested for espionage. Turns out, Steve’s bionic eye got him into serious trouble with the government, as the eye is apparently capable of transmitting everything it sees. Steve was quietly hauled into custody the night of Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John’s (Drake Hogestyn) wedding, and he’s been in holding ever since.
But so far, Tripp knows nothing about what’s been going on with his father, as Kayla and Roman (Josh Taylor) have kept the ordeal under wraps. But Kayla will finally decide that it’s time for Tripp to know the truth, and she’ll reach out to him.
According to Days spoilers, Kayla will meet with Tripp and tell him the whole terrible story, including how she sought out the eye technology for Steve in the first place. Kayla feels horribly guilty about the whole thing, since she had to make a deal with Stefan (Tyler Christopher) to get the eye. She feels that she should have known better, and she’s probably worried that Tripp will blame her for Steve’s arrest.
But it looks like Tripp will respond with kindness instead. Tripp will be shocked by what’s happened, but he’ll understand Kayla’s motivations for wanting Steve to get his sight back, and he’ll know that she never intended for Steve to be charged with espionage.
Tripp and Kayla used to have a tumultuous relationship, but that’s all behind them now. Tripp will offer his support to his step-mom, and he’ll probably want to do whatever he can to help get Steve out of jail. Unfortunately, espionage is a serious crime and the government doesn’t mess around when it comes to those accused. It could be a long time before Steve’s cleared.
