General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that another departure could be looming. Before we get to that, let’s recap some recent casting shockers. Dominic Zamprogna recently wrapped up his run as Dante and that was a tough blow for many GH fans. Dante was certainly a fan favorite.
Chloe Lanier will also conclude her time at the ABC soap soon, so we’ll have to say goodbye to Nelle. Love her or hate her, Nelle has consistently provided hot drama. Without her scheming, General Hospital will have to rely on other villainous characters. Unfortunately, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) may not be one of them.
Soap Opera Digest’s new issue leaked quite a bombshell. According to an intriguing blind item, one show’s scrambling to make story adjustments. Due to the exit of a key player in this plot, the writers are being forced to make changes. We should also mention that the departing cast member isn’t on contract.
There’s already been buzz out there about James Patrick Stuart’s potential exit. Thanks to some hints in his birthday messages and a new pilot he shot, fans have been worried. This blind item should give viewers another reason to fret. It’s looking more and more likely that Stuart will hit the road.
Of course, there’s no confirmation just yet. This blind item could be about any performer on any soap, but Stuart makes the most sense here. Days of Our Lives doesn’t usually feature recurring players in main storylines. They tape several months ahead, but it’s tough to imagine that changing. DOOL tends to stick with their contract actors and add the recurring folks on the side.
The Bold and the Beautiful puts their necessary performers on contract as well. There aren’t any recurring players that would lead to major adjustments. The same goes for The Young and the Restless. All the big Y&R stories revolve around contract players right now.
Since we can seemingly narrow this down to GH, Stuart’s a likely departure option. Ryan Carnes (Lucas) and Parry Shen (Brad) are currently involved in a hot story, but it appears they wanted this. Their social media comments make it seem like they’ve been waiting for some action, so they probably don’t want out when it’s about to get good!
Stuart, on the other hand, may be ready to step away from the show entirely. His exit would certainly require the adjustments we talked about. Valentin could make progress with Nina (Michelle Stafford) before long. General Hospital may have to put the brakes on their reunion. If Valentin was involved in Anna’s (Finola Hughes) kidnapping, that’d be another loose end to tie up.
There’s also Peter (Wes Ramsey) to consider. Valentin has tried to be there for him, but he may have to bail soon enough. If Valentin’s exit is in the works, how will GH explain it? Will Valentin be locked up for a crime or potentially face a deadly fate?
