General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the ABC soap could have something exciting in the works. Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Nick Stabile) was killed off after getting shot by Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and tumbling off a balcony. He supposedly fell to his death, but how can anyone be sure without a recovered body? GH left the possibility of a return open, so it might be time to take advantage of that.
Tyler Christopher was known for this popular role, but he’s busy on Days of Our Lives at the moment. He’s not free for a GH comeback, so someone else would have to play Nikolas. There’s undoubtedly some handsome actor out there who’d fit the part.
Stabile filled in briefly before Nikolas’ presumed death in 2016, but the show might want to start fresh. It’s been over two years, so General Hospital fans may be more flexible about a recast by now. We’re not used to seeing any form of Nikolas on our screens, so GH could slide a newbie in without too much of a fuss. It probably wouldn’t take long to get used to the new Nik.
If GH intends to go for it, this is the perfect opportunity. General Hospital spoilers say Laura (Genie Francis) will return to Port Charles soon. It wouldn’t have made sense to do a Nikolas comeback story without her.
Although Laura’s main focus will be Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) initially, there’s no rule that says she has to stick to one plot. Laura could find herself facing several major shockers. Kevin was likely swapped with his twin brother, so that should be the first one. Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) has seemingly been impersonating his brother while Kevin’s been locked up in Ferncliff.
Laura could play a role in figuring that out, but Valentin may be in charge of unlocking the next mystery. August 20 will bring some crazy info to Valentin’s attention. He’ll learn an astonishing family secret, so Nikolas’ continued existence would fit here. What would be more astonishing than finding out Nikolas is alive?
General Hospital could use other hot material now that Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) gone. They’ve got the baby swap drama to carry things for a while, but they need to start setting up other twisty stories. GH should pull out all the stops if they want to keep fans tuning in!
Maybe that’s what this Cassadine secret’s all about. If GH finally offers a hint about Nikolas’ survival, it could get viewers excited about what’s in store. General Hospital spoilers say some big surprises are looming, so Nikolas could easily show up down the road.
