General Hospital (GH) spoilers is saddened to pass on some news about the death of a beloved GH star’s mother. Laura Wright, who portrays Carly Corinthos on the ABC soap, recently shared on social media about the passing of her mother Betty.
Laura posted a touching picture on Instagram of her hand cradling her mother’s hand along with the following message: “This beautiful hand right here has given so much love…held many tiny fingers…cooked countless meals…washed loads of clothes…held 5 grandchildren…I’ll miss you my Beautiful Momma Xoxoxox. You get to rest now…I love you.”
Laura’s mother suffered from emphysema, a condition in which the air sacs of the lungs are damaged. Laura previously had posted updates on social media about how her mom was doing. Just this past summer, she posted a beautiful picture of her mother with an update on her health.
In the message accompanying the photo, Laura wrote: “…my mom has emphysema and struggles everyday to breathe – to walk through the house. Just to walk outside to the car is extremely difficult…and frustrating to say the least for my mom. But when the days are good and this day looks like a good day, we need to celebrate and share!!! You look BEAUTIFUL Mom!!!! I Love You.”
Laura’s latest post about her mom’s passing has received an outpouring of support from her followers. Most are sending their condolences and prayers, and some are commenting about their own recent losses and identifying with Laura’s current situation.
