General Hospital spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will soon have more than one family member mad at her for indirectly causing Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) fall. Her daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is already upset with her for not giving Nelle the benefit of the doubt and a second chance. But when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) hears about Nelle’s fall down the stairs at her baby shower, he will be even more upset than anyone else in the family, being the father of the baby.
Michael will likely hear about the accident first not from Carly, but from Monica Quartermaine (temporarily being portrayed by Patty MacCormack) his paternal grandmother, who is on Nelle’s side. Even if Monica does say it was an accident, she will be quick to blame Carly for not having better sense than to struggle with a very pregnant woman over a baby blanket at the top of some very high stairs.
Monica of course will deliver the news with her own bias, never having liked or gotten along with Carly. Josslyn will likely also tell him, although it may be later, wanting to know if Nelle and the baby are okay before causing Michael to panic unnecessarily.
Michael may be more understanding of his little sister holding back. Carly is so wrapped up in her own anger against Nelle, and then remorse for struggling with her over the blanket and contributing to her fall, that she may wind up not getting a chance to tell Michael at all. Poor Michael may very well hear about his baby being in danger through the grapevine instead of from his mother, the one person who SHOULD be telling him bad news like this.
The ultimate shock to Michael will be when Nelle accuses Carly of pushing her down the stairs, and combined with the fact that he heard about the fall from everyone else EXCEPT his own mother, General Hospital spoilers tease that Michael will believe Nelle. From everyone else’s perspective, they didn’t see anything but a struggle over a baby blanket and then Nelle’s tumble down the whole flight of stairs.
GH viewers know that she twisted her ankle, and that is what actually caused the fall, but Carly trying to grab the blanket away from her was definitely a contributing factor. Michael could turn against Carly totally and reconcile with Nelle fully, which is what Nelle wants.
Michael could also believe his mother is not in her right mind because of her over the top hatred of Nelle, but in any case, until he knows his and Nelle’s baby is safe and not in danger, he will be very upset and very worried. Carly is going to wind up formally charged and on trial soon and GH buzz is clear that Michael will be firmly on Nelle’s side as his mom’s trial gets underway.
