General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Lulu (Emme Rylan) will continue to struggle without Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Their family’s been in crisis mode thanks to Charlotte’s (Scarlett Fernandez) bullying, so Lulu really could’ve used Dante’s support. Charlotte has promised to back off, but there’s no guarantee she’ll keep her word. More school issues could be brewing, so all of this could take a toll.
Lulu opened up to Chase (Josh Swickard) about Dante’s absence and how hard this ordeal has been. She expected Dante to be back by now, but there’s still no sign of him. Lulu’s trying to stay strong, but she’s feeling isolated and frustrated. GH can’t leave Lulu in romantic limbo forever, so they’ll have to make a choice on how to proceed soon.
So what’s next for lonely Lulu and her shattered love life? There are a few ways for the show to take this, but let’s go ahead and eliminate Zamprogna’s comeback for now. General Hospital fans would certainly love that, but Zamprogna made it clear that his recent return to the show was only for one day.
Since Zamprogna isn’t interested coming back for a long-term stint, there are some other options to consider. GH could recast the role of Dante, but they might want to leave the door open for Zamprogna. Just because he doesn’t want to return right now doesn’t mean he’s turning his back on General Hospital forever. Who knows what could happen in a year or two?
If the show skips the recast option, that leaves us with three more. One is to just make Dante care more about his work than his family indefinitely. That’d leave Lulu with no choice but to divorce him down the road. This plan obviously wouldn’t be the ideal solution since it’d completely trash the character. It’s tough to believe Dante would just stay away from his family for good.
The best options would probably be to have Dante go missing or be presumed dead. The latter would provide the most closure and allow Lulu to truly let go. It wouldn’t bring the crushing sadness of a death on canvas, but it’d give Rylan some solid material to play and perhaps strengthen Lulu’s bond with Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Chase could step up to help Lulu cope as well.
General Hospital spoilers say Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) will make a stunning discovery on December 28. Could that have something to do with Dante? Will Olivia discover that Dante hasn’t been in touch when he said he would? She might compare notes with Lulu over the holidays and realize something’s off. Her mother’s intuition could kick in and determine that Dante is in danger!
This could lead to a desperate search for answers. Of course, a far worse discovery could be waiting at the end of this mission. The signs might point to Dante’s demise, which would finally resolve this exit storyline. It would also let Lulu do more than handle bratty Charlotte and deliver chicken parm to the police station! She deserves to find love again and make better use of her airtime.
