General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina’s desire for a child, her need to be a mom, might imply that she in fact has a living child in Port Charles. GH fans have touching on Nina Reeves Cassadine’s (Michelle Stafford) wanting a child since the character was brought to the canvas in May of 2014. Now that just recently she has lost her beloved brother James “Nathan” West (Ryan Paevey) Nina feels a huge void in her heart.
Nina has been told several times by experts that there is no way to conceive due to early menopause caused by the 20-year coma her evil mother Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) put her in. General Hospital buzz suggests that Nina does have a grown child living in Port Charles.
Social media long-time chatter is that Nina’s daughter could be her nemesis Ava Jerome’s daughter Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) while most recent GH buzz is that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) is her daughter.
When Nina first came to town she was bitter and took her anger out on people who really had nothing to do with her horrible circumstances – losing everything that mattered in her life – from Silas to the child that she conceived with him.
General Hospital viewers will remember Nina had a hit list and Kiki Jerome was on it because she was Ava Jerome’s daughter. Nina felt Ava did not deserve a child and that is was very unfair given Nina had allegedly lost hers. Nina believed that she lost her child partly because of Ava’s affair with Silas ruined her marriage.
Nina was also became jealous of Kiki due to her special bond with Franco (Roger Howarth) who Nina was engaged to him at the time. But eventually Kiki and Nina formed a friendship through a common love for Franco (Roger Howarth) and all the hostility went out the window.
GH fans are almost unanimous in that Nina and Kiki would be a great fit as mother and daughter especially since it they feel it would serve Ava Jerome right.
In the summer of 2016 General hospital introduced a young adult girl who gave up her kidney to help Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) live. Everyone thought Nelle was sent from heaven, so helpful making herself indispensable to Carly Corinthos.
Carly Corinthos ( Laura Wright) owed her everything and took Nelle under her wing only to be conned and betrayed by her. Nelle revealed herself as Carly’s adoptive father Frank Benson’s daughter making Carly Nelle’s adoptive sister. Nelle schemed her way into Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) bed by drugging him, breaking up the Corinthos family.
Nelle even had the nerve to blackmail Sonny after all that she had done. Desperate for funds, Nelle then tried to blackmail the sinister Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) threatening to break up his marriage to Nina with a picture she snapped on her phone, but to no avail.
Nelle didn’t stop there, she continued on to Nina’s office, her boss at the time showing her the picture of Valentin with another woman. Nelle’s devious plan backfired and Nina fired her from Crimson.
Now Nina is involved in a nefarious high-stakes game in which she is working to drive Carly insane via Morgan. Of course now that Jason is involved GH fans sense that the tide will turn against Nelle in a very serious manner!
There is definitely no love lost between Nina and Nelle which would also make a perfect soap mother-daughter reunion – these characters would have to learn to actually like each other. Nina would have to accept the fact that the town monster is now her long-lost daughter!
