General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Oscar’s (Garren Stitt) battle is far from over. He decided to give Drew (Billy Miller) and Kim (Tamara Braun) a Thanksgiving miracle by agreeing to the clinical trial. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) was the reason for that. She convinced Oscar that if this experimental treatment could give them more time together, it’d be worth it.
Based on Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) assessment and what Oscar told Joss, the risks don’t seem that high. There’s no guarantee Oscar will respond to the treatment, but there doesn’t appear to be an unusual amount of danger either. Oscar has accepted his odds, so he’s signing up to give himself a real shot at survival.
Of course, soaps are known for worst-case scenarios and one-in-a-million chances. If there’s a possibility Oscar will be negatively affected, it almost feels like a given that it’ll happen. After all, this can’t be the end of the storyline. Oscar isn’t going to receive treatment and get cured just like that. We didn’t go through all this buildup for nothing.
There are a couple of ways General Hospital could take this hot plot. Oscar may be going through with the clinical trial, but he’s not moving home. He was adamant about continuing his job at Charlie’s Pub and staying with his new friends.
Those new friends aren’t all they’re cracked up to be since Oscar is clearly part of a cult. Daisy (Kelsey Wang) is constantly preaching about self-healing, so she may try to talk Oscar out of his latest decision. If he lets something slip about his condition and treatment, it could cause some chaos among his fellow followers. Oscar could back out of the clinical trial and concern his parents once again.
However, GH may not want to keep going back and forth on this. Oscar needs to decide if he’s in or out. Enough is enough! It’s time to get this show on the road and see if the treatment works. Oscar may stand strong against the cult and stick with his plan. If so, perhaps Oscar’s fears will become reality. He could be one of the patients who actually gets worse from the clinical trial.
This would bring a great story for Drew, Kim and Josslyn. All three of them pushed for this, so they may feel terrible if Oscar’s condition suddenly looks bleaker. He didn’t want to live out his final months confined to a bed or in vegetative state. Oscar’s loved ones could end up feeling like they robbed Oscar of his dying wishes – to be normal for as long as possible and go out on his terms.
General Hospital spoilers hint that a few more twists are looming, so Oscar could still recover. There are always last-minute miracle cures on soaps. You know, the kind that come out of nowhere thanks to someone rich and powerful – like Sonny (Maurice Benard), who would gladly help Josslyn’s boyfriend if he finds an option. Oscar’s brain could even start responding to the original treatment later.
