General Hospital Spoilers: Peter August – Devil or Angel?

General Hospital spoilers reveal Peter August (Wes Ramsey) to be a man of many complicated sides….one minute, one thinks he’s an absolute angel…. and the next minute, one thinks he could be hiding some devil inside as well!

No doubt, the author of “The Severed Branch” holds a lot of anger and resentment inside against the way he was mistreated as he was growing up. Once he came into the care (or should we say clutches) of his natural father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), life apparently became unpleasant and abusive.

The manuscript itself speaks of a son’s revenge and the murder of his father, the son seeing himself as a “severed branch” of a family tree. He also harbors resentment against his as yet unknown mother, at least unknown to him. That was obvious in the conversation he had with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) in the Metro Court in the GH episode of March 12.

Valentin had advised Peter, concerning his speculations about his mother, and how he came to be, to leave it all in the past and think of the “end of the story” the way he wanted it to be. After all, he reminded Peter, he’s always looked out for him, and they would work through this together. Valentin very much appears to be if not a father figure, at least a “big brother” for Peter.

Peter’s been an angel where his half sister-in-law Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and her bun in the oven are concerned. He has been her confidant and protector, although he seems to be falling for her in a romantic sense as well. And yet he seemed to be a bit of a sneaky devil when he dug the bullet out of his bullet proof vest and burned it, therefore destroying possible evidence in the shooting of Cesar Faison and the death of Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).

Peter also appeared to be hiding a devilish interior when he intercepted the disco ball ornament Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) accidentally donated to the community Christmas tree. Peter removed the flash drive that contained Dr Andre Maddox’s (Anthony Montgomery) memory-mapping program and the key to restoring Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) memories.

Peter also appears to have a devilish connection to the Russian clinic where Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was held for five years; however Cesar accused the “traitor” of keeping Jason alive… and given that “the traitor” is Peter, Jason was not exactly in a vacation spa, but on the other hand, he WAS protected from being killed by Cesar Faison!

General Hospital spoilers tease that eventually we will learn the truth about Peter, aka Heinrik Faison, as his character is developed in Port Charles storylines.  Peter will show us who he really is by the decisions and choices he makes when faced with future dilemmas. Will that truth be that Peter is a devil in disguise, or a misguided angel who means well, but goes about executing his plans in the wrong ways? Stick with the ABC soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest General Hospital spoilers, updates and news.
