General Hospital (GH) spoilers say that Jason (Steve Morgan), Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) will soon discover an unexpected and some would say shocking link between Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and the Cassadine family. Among other things they discover among the contents of Faison’s safety deposit box, which they blackmail Swiss banker Erich Ruhl (Hugh Holub) into giving to them, is information linking him to the Cassadines.
General Hospital spoilers tease that it could be a document showing that Cesar Faison and Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) were half-brothers – meaning Valentin Cassadine (James Paul Stuart) and Peter August/Heinrik Faison (Wes Ramsey) are cousins! For those GH fans less familiar with General Hospital history, Mikkos was Valentin’s father.
Cesar Faison Was Mikkos Cassadine’s Half-Brother!
Mikkos’ mother is never revealed in General Hospital historical family trees, although his father, Ivan is mentioned. Could that be because Mikkos’ parents never married or because Ivan Cassadine had children who were products of affairs as Mikkos did?
It’s also possible that Ivan’s wife had the affair, producing Cesar, and then being excommunicated from the family and removed from the family tree. However it happened, Cesar’s mother must have been a Dane, since Cesar claimed himself as Danish, and we already know from GH history that Ivan was a Russian, since Mikkos and the rest of the Cassadine family are Russian.
GH shows a family history of the Cassadine men putting illegitimate sons in boarding schools or orphanages and this practice could have started with Ivan. We know both Mikkos and Cesar put their illegitimate sons, Valentin and Heinrik respectively, in boarding schools. Although Mikkos for some reason kept illegitimate daughters Alexis (also known as Natasha Cassadine, portrayed by Nancy Lee Grahn) and Kristina (Jaime Ray Newman) in the family.
So it is possible Cesar was raised the same way, put in a boarding school or orphanage during his early years, although we know Heinrich spent enough time with Cesar to develop a burning desire for vengeance. GH history is vague on this but it is possible Cesar sought out the Cassadine part of his family and joined forces with them as an adult.
Valentin could also have reconnected with the paternal side of his family earlier than what is currently known at this point. General Hospital fans know Valentin was in touch with them at least when the Chimera project came into his hands that he sold it to Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers). That means cousins Valentin and Heinrik knew of each other for quite some time.
So what will Jason, Sam and Spinelli do with the information they find? Solid General Hospital spoilers indicate that Jason is coming for Valentin based upon the clue discovered in Switzerland. Will this ultimately be useful in solving the puzzle of Drew’s memories and Jason’s captivity?
