General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that some startling connections will be made, but confusion will get in the way of even more. Ever since Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) debuted, GH fans have wondered about her backstory. The show’s given us a few clues along the way – like Willow’s attendance at the bereavement group meetings with Michael (Chad Duell).
Willow also lashed out when Nina (Michelle Stafford) asked if she had children at their parent-teacher conference. Nina basically acted like Willow had to be a mom to truly get it, so Ms. Tait naturally took offense. That’s partly because she believes she’s a good teacher regardless, but mostly because she’s keeping a secret involving a child of her own.
All the hints added up to Willow being Wiley’s birth mom, so it should come as no surprise that she actually is. General Hospital spoilers confirm that Willow indeed gave birth to Wiley, who died suddenly and was ultimately swapped with Jonah. The jury’s still out on whether GH will give Willow a double secret and make her Nina’s real daughter as well, but we’ve at least got one secret to work with.
Since Willow’s been attending the bereavement group meetings, the natural assumption would be that Julian (William deVry) told her the real Wiley died. However, new information points in another direction. Perhaps Willow has simply been attending these meetings to mourn a different kind of loss.
Then again, Willow might have dealt with the death of a loved one before Wiley’s birth. If she was feeling lost and overwhelmed, that could’ve played a role in her decision to give him up. However, Willow’s reaction to Chase’s (Josh Swickard) first date debacle may have explained that. It seems obvious that Willow was raped or at least participated in some hookup mistake she didn’t want to repeat.
Whatever the case, Willow’s in for a shock when Michael shows off a picture of “Wiley” and admits he’s a proud godfather. She’ll realize Michael is linked to the people she believes are her son’s adoptive parents. Willow’s reaction suggests that Julian got her to back off without revealing Brad’s (Parry Shen) swap story, which he left Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) name out of.
In other words, it seems Willow will still believe this is her baby. The deal was that Willow got to know all about Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad, but they weren’t allowed to know anything about her. Willow will undoubtedly recognize their names and faces if they’re part of the photo, which may be from the upcoming Christmas party.
Michael might be pumped for additional info, which could bring an intriguing situation. Willow will think she’s asking about her own child when she’s really asking about Michael’s – and he’ll have no idea about either connection! She’ll be keeping secrets and they’ll both be in the dark on a few more.
Of course, Willow may confide in Michael eventually and stir up more Brad troubles. This mess is definitely going to get messier in the coming months.
