Hell’s Kitchen begins tonight with Chef Ramsay speaking to Black Jacket Chef Milly, reminding him that he has so much talent, so much strength, and an immaculate palate; he doesn’t need to fight and is better than that. He tells him he holds him better than that and tells him to rise above it. Milly returns to the dorms feeling he will never respond to another hater again.

The following morning the black jacket chefs, Michelle, Nick, Milly and Benjamin return to the dining room and it is decorated for Christmas. Chef Ramsay presents them with lovely gifts of their families; everyone is super emotional. They all sit at their tables with their families, talking about the challenges and services. After spending some quality time together, everyone says goodbye as Chef Ramsay tells them they have a busy day ahead.

Chef Ramsay asks the chefs to pick presents from under the Christmas tree, Michelle chooses red. Benjamin picks gold. Nick picks silver and blue while Milly receives the green, white and red; underneath are ingredients and they are instructed to make a dish that screams “Happy Holidays!” They are to make 3 incredible potions and have 45 minutes to do so.

Chef Ramsay reveals the judges joining him are their own family members – Benjamin’s wife, Rosanna. Michelle’s sister, Lizzy. Nick’s mom, Jeanne and Milly’s girlfriend, Natisha. The chefs are told if there is any hint on who made the dish, it is an instant disqualification.

The first dish up is Michelle’s Venison. Rosanna says the flavors are festive. Lizzy says it is a little rarer than she would eat but she enjoyed it enough, she would eat the whole thing.

The second dish is Nick’s peppercorn Filet Mignon. Rosanna says the puree is a little salty. Jeanne feels it is a little overcooked for her. Natisha admits it is a little salty but the potatoes balance it out. They all feel it doesn’t scream holidays.

The third dish is the chestnut crusted salmon made by Benjamin. Jeanne says she loves it and would order it in a restaurant. Natisha says the salmon is a little dry. Rosanna feels the colors are a little weird.

The final dish is Milly’s lobster tail mac and cheese. Lizzy says the lobster is a little chewy but had a lot of flavors. Rosanna said it was a big portion. Jeanne said the flavors were good but it looked messy. Natisha liked it.

Natisha nominates Nick and Benjamin. Jeanne nominates Michelle and Benjamin. Lizzy nominates Benjamin and Michelle. Rosanna nominates Nick and Michelle. There is a tie between Michelle and Benjamin; Chef Ramsay says he brought them in so he didn’t have to make this decision and reveals that Benjamin is the winner of this challenge, but he is surprised everyone enjoyed this dish but his mother.

Benjamin’s reward is to spend some time with a 3 Michelin Star chef – Chef Gordon Ramsay. They will take a scenic drive through the canyon to one of his favorite spots. Benjamin is thrilled to be riding in Ramsay’s Ferrari. Gordon talks about Benjamin’s work in the kitchen thus far, praising his conviction and cooking being “spot on.” Benjamin feels Michelle is his biggest competition right now.

The losing chefs need to clean up the Christmas décor as well as clean the Hell’s Kitchen SUVs, vacuumed and detailed. Nick is sulking that his mother didn’t pick his dish, as Marino oversees their work. Benjamin is shocked to learn he will be having dinner with his wife and daughters, rather than with Chef Ramsay, his idol. He does feel this is his favorite surprise but he does tease his wife that he almost didn’t make it as Rosanna didn’t vote for him.

Back in Hell’s Kitchen, Marino shows them how to pack up all the individual Christmas ornaments. Milly, Michelle, and Nick talk about making it a sweep from Season 14 for the three of them being the top 3.

Chef Ramsay tells Marino to open Hell’s Kitchen, and dinner service begins. The dining room begins to fill, including VIP guests like Gabrielle Dennis, Actor (The Game) and Anna Konkle, Actor (New Girl).

Tonight the all-star chefs will face their most critical test so far, they will each take a turn running the pass. Chef Ramsay will test their attention to detail, leadership and quality control. He wants them to show him, they want to be in the finals. The first chef to run the pass will be Benjamin and Christina will run the appetizers.

Benjamin’s first test is a carbonara that is made with spaghetti instead of fettuccine. Immediately, Benjamin sees it and Chef Ramsay tells him it was well spotted. He is off to a strong start. For the next sabotage, Chef Christina has added carrots to the risotto instead of butternut squash; Benjamin doesn’t catch it and Chef Ramsay reminds him he needs to taste everything and check out every little detail.

Milly is up to the pass next and Chef Ramsay reminds him of the last time he was up there on Season 14 and says he wants an upgrade from then. He reminds him to watch everything, as he is the last line of defense. Milly’s first test is in his hand, Marino gave him an improperly written ticket. Milly reads it out and then they call Marino back and Ramsay calls him an idiot. He tells Milly “well spotted!” Christina gives Milly two jumbo shrimp instead of lobster tails and he spots it immediately. Chef Ramsay confronts Michelle wanting to know if she is not listening or if she is sabotaging Milly. She assures them she isn’t, as she is a team player until the end.

Michelle is on the pass, but Chef Ramsay is concerned she has switched gears. She notices that Chef Christina didn’t give her spinach. Chef Ramsay switches an NY strip with a ribeye, she begins to slice and doesn’t even notice; saying it is undercooked. When he questions the meat she says she knew there was something wrong and he tells her to get back into the game and tells her to switch with Nick.

Nick is at the pass. His first test has Ramsay switched a pork chop with a veal chop. Nick cuts the chop and tells Milly it is nicely cooked and Chef Ramsay tells him to stop as it is a veal chop. He is devastated but tells himself to not focus on the mistake. Nick catches the sabotage Christina does and Chef Ramsay praises him for catching it. Michelle brings up duck sauce instead of lamb sauce and Nick is getting irritated that Milly and Michelle are really sabotaging him, even not being able to poach an egg for him.

It is over 2 hours into dinner service, Nick is doing a solid job running the pass but Milly is really screwing him. They are able to complete the final table and the black jackets feel this was the most intense dinner service they ever had. Chef Ramsay tells them it was tough and nowhere near a perfect night, he wants them to go to the dorm and come to a consensus on the chef that deserves who should be alongside them in the finale.

They return to the dining room, as Chef Ramsay says this has been an amazing journey as all four of them have been very worthy competitors and he isn’t looking forward to sending two of them home. He asks Milly which chef would he want to go against in the finale. He says Nick and feels he should be there as he has grown so much since season 14, and he would have kept fighting all night. He has shown that he is a confident chef.

Nick thinks he is the most composed chef and can handle his own. He doesn’t melt under pressure and he keeps fighting, only there to cook and he thinks he has proven that to Chef Ramsay.

Benjamin wants to cook against Nick. He feels he is technically sound and a true leader. He has found his voice and can be his chef in Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas and beyond. He can handle the pressure.

Michelle feels she can be in the finale because every day she has been there, she has brought it! She has overcome a lot of obstacles from the red team and she is the last woman standing because she held her composure and stayed true to herself. She promises she has more to show him and she feels if she gets into the finale she will blow him away with everything she can do there.

Chef Ramsay says this is a tough one, but the first chef who will not be heading into the finale is Milly. He tells Milly he was so happy to give him a second chance, for all the confidence and for what he has going for him now. Ramsay is going to do something he has never done before – He wants Milly to come spend a week with Chef Gordon Ramsay at his 3 Michelin Star Restaurant, and stand in the kitchen in Chelsea. He will take care of the flights, accommodations, just for Milly to have the experience and open his eyes. He agrees to come to England.

The first chef progressing into the finale is Nick. Chef Ramsay says he has grown more than any chef in this competition. Chef looks at Benjamin and Michelle and tells them he wants to get this over quickly. He says Benjamin will be joining Nick in the finals, as he has been brilliant and the strongest chef in the kitchen tonight, assertive, controlling and demanding.

Michelle has had a phenomenal journey, she should be proud of everything she has accomplished and done and stood for. It was such a hard decision for him and it was so close; Chef Ramsay says he is sorry to say that Michelle too will have to say a while longer. For the first time ever, in the history of Hell’s Kitchen, three chefs are heading into the finale!

Good luck to Nick, Benjamin, and Michelle in Hell’s Kitchen Season 17 2-hour finale next week!

“Milly has had two fantastic runs in Hell’s Kitchen. I’m personally going to make sure that big, kind-hearted man with so much passion gets the right training he deserves!”
