The first challenge tonight is the iconic Mystery Box Challenge. Tonight the cooks are entering Christina’s world, they will have to make a delicious Master Chef worthy desert using whatever they find in their Mystery Box.

But first, the judges want to give them a little taste of what’s in store, sugar. All of the sudden sugar comes out of the ceiling and falls all over the cooks. In the boxes, there are many different natural sweeteners, but there is something missing, there is no processed sugar.

Tonight the winner will win something that money can’t buy, the recipe for the winning dessert will be issued in Family Circle’s May edition of their popular magazine.

Their 60 minutes start, they are on their way. The judges want to take a look at three amazing dishes. First up is Pierce, he made Vanilla Panna Cotta with guava-raspberry puree and blood oranges, Joe loved it but Christina thought he should use some buttermilk.

Next is Maria, she made Puff Pastry Plum Tart with coconut fruit drink, Gordon loves it but said it should have a touch less salt, Joe tells Maria she is ahead of the class. The last cook is Remy, she made Baked Donuts with matcha glaze and chocolate ganache, Christina thinks they are delicious and she is impressed, Gordon loves them.

Congratulations go to Remy, she is the winner and gets to have her recipe featured in Family Circle Magazine. Furthermore, all three cooks are safe from the elimination challenge.

The cooks are actually all told to leave when they return Christina is dressed up at the Statue of Liberty. All of a sudden, Gordon comes in wearing a kilt and playing the bagpipes. Joe comes in and he is dressed like a huge slice of pizza,

Remy, Pierce, and Maria are sent up to the balcony because they are safe. For the elimination challenge, they will have one hour to make cultural heritages dish. There are flags that represent many countries, they have to go choose one that represents their heritage.

The judges call Beni up first, he made Deconstructed Chicken Pot Pie with biscuit and gravy, Gordon loves it. Cade made Blackened Shrimp with buttermilk biscuit, okra and praline sauce,

Christina thinks the biscuit is way too big, missing seasoning and his place in the competition is in trouble because of this dish. Anthony made Linguine & Clams, Joe loves it.

Mikey made Sausage & Ricotta Ravioli with pesto, Gordon is impressed, a very good dish. Quani made Honey BBQ Chicken with peach BBQ sauce and coleslaw, Christina loves the BBQ sauce, the chicken and coleslaw though were not great. Ariana made Apple Stuffed Pork Chop with potato puree and mushroom au jus, Joe loves it, he finds it very favorable.

Mackenzie made a California Roll with cucumber, crab meat, and avocado, Christina doesn’t like it but she is happy that she paid homage to her Japanese background. Sophia made Jerk Chicken Quesadilla with cold mango soup, the dish is burned, Gordon is not impressed. The good news is that there were some really amazing dishes, but the bad news is that two people are going home.

There were two dishes that captured the spirit of the challenge; Ariana and Anthony. The dish of the night was Beni. Christina calls to the front, Quani, Cade, Mackenzie, and Sophia. Gordon calls Quani and Cade forward, they are safe. Mackenzie and Sophie are eliminated.

THE END!
