Meghan Markle might now be better known as the Duchess of Sussex, but it looks like her fans will always remember her as one of the stars of the television legal drama, Suits. As a matter of fact, many eyewitnesses couldn’t help but notice that Prince Harry’s wife managed to keep very calm and chill while a crowd of people sang the Suits theme song for her. This apparently happened during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s stop in Auckland, New Zealand this past week.
Harry and Meghan have spent the last two weeks touring Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and now New Zealand as part of their first international state tour as a royal couple together. And while everyone has been very excited to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex up close and personal together, it looks like there were some fans who were more excited about seeing Rachel Zane instead.
Meghan played her character Rachel for eight seasons before leaving the show last year. Meghan knew that she couldn’t continue working in Hollywood if she wanted to marry Harry and therefore decided to retire from acting altogether.
A group of very enthusiastic fans decided to give Meghan Markle quite the warm welcome in Auckland by not only having a singalong to the Suits theme song Greenback Boogie, but they also had a marching band, too. Both Prince Harry and Meghan managed to greet the crowd, despite the fact that there were blaring trumpets playing the song in the background.
The Duchess of Sussex managed to keep her cool throughout the entire ordeal, even though some fans couldn’t help but get a giggle out of it. Even though Meghan has mentioned in the past that she will always look back at her years on Suits fondly, she’s definitely moved on from the show. As a member of the British royal family, she’s instead focusing on her charity work, royal engagements and her public appearances alongside Prince Harry.
So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the sing along, although it is doubtful that she will. Right now, she has more important priorities in her life, as she is expecting her first child with Prince Harry. The baby is due sometime in the Spring of 2019.
